After 4 days, the Apollo 11 space shuttle was close enough to orbit the Moon. Two of the astronauts, Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong, entered the lunar module to descend to the Moon’s surface. There were going to be the first humans ever to set foot on the moon. The third astronaut, Michael Collins, remained in the space shuttle orbiting the moon. His job was to ensure that everything in the space shuttle was under control. His main task was to help the lunar module dock with the space shuttle once it returned from the Moon’s surface.
