Some of the teachers and TAs are having a go too (when they get home from work!). Although we are not all together, this will unite us in some way. We are asking you to create a piece of art based on the title: The view from my window… Here is some inspiration… With your parent’s permission, you could watch ‘Graysons Art Club’ for inspiration, which had an episode with the same theme: https://www.channel4.com/programmes/graysons-art-club/on-demand/ 71402-004

Merton Park Whole School Project

Today something very exciting is happening… all the children from Merton Park will be completing the same task, from nursery to year 6. Some of the teachers and TAs are having a go too (when they get home from work!).

Although we are not all together, this will unite us in some way.

We are asking you to create a piece of art based on the title:

The view from my window…Here is some inspiration…

With your parent’s permission, you could watch ‘Graysons Art Club’ for inspiration, which had an episode with the same theme:

You have all day so …. spend time planning and thinking about your work.

First of all, choose a window and take time to look out of it…

What can you see? What can you hear? What does the window frame look like? Is there anything on the window sill? Is someone standing at the window?

Make lots of sketches- it doesn’t have to be perfect first time.

What could you use?

It is up to you what materials you use…

collage, photography, paint, pencil, pens

Or why not layer it up and mix up the media. Choose your colours carefully.

What else could I do?

You could write poem about what you can see out of the window. Choose words carefully trying to put a picture and feeling in the reader’s mind.

You could film yourself performing the poem.

When you are creating you may want to get in touch with friends who will be doing the same thing. Those of you with brothers or sisters could work together and help each other.

What to do with the finished work?

Why not put your finished work in your window, alongside your rainbow pictures. Other people will be able to appreciate your art and I’m sure it will cheer them up.

We would love to hear about and see what you have been doing. Please send any films, photos or word documents to Miss Parsons on [email protected]

We can’t wait to see your work.

GO FOR IT! GOOD LUCK!

Your teachers will not be available on Monday, so please direct any questions to Miss Parsons. Work will be set as usual on Tuesday.
