Day 1

- Read Get Outside National Geographic Magazine (Epic)

- What sort of things are you planning on doing this summer? Can you think about what you would like to do?

- Have a look at the presentation Holding back the flood:- this is the link for the website that is referred to on the presentation:- https://vimeo.com/35758160 (hydroelectric power)- Read the fact sheets about three different dams.- When you have read all of the above have a go at the debating dams activity sheet that I’ve saved to the year 5 home learning page – can you then answer the questions at the bottom of the page.- Don’t forget to share your work onto Class Dojo so I can leave you some comments!

Day 2

-Read and have a go at the Plastic pollution reading comprehension (saved onto the website)

- Can you have a go at writing the dilemma (main problem – what goes wrong?) to your spooky story.- Use the word mat and the spooky pictures to help you (saved on the website two weeks ago if you get a bit stuck for ideas.- I’ve also saved a ‘planning a story’ frame that shows the different stages of a story to help you with this – if you get stuck you can always ask me for help! You can always continue filling in the one you did last week.

Day 3

-Read Arthur and the Golden Rope by Joe Todd Stanton (I’ve saved this on Epic for you) – did you enjoy this story? Why?

-Continue with your problem – if you get this finished then you could have a go at planning solution to the problem (which we’ll be writing next week) – you can do this on the story planner that I’ve saved onto the website.-Don’t forget to share your story problems with me on Class Dojo so that I can give you some comments and guidance
