ATTN: HEALTH PROMOTION STUDENTS When planning out your classes, remember:
*BOTH HLTH 312 and HLTH 330 must be taken PRIOR to HLTH 434, not concurrently
*HLTH 434 must be taken PRIOR to HLTH 439, not concurrently or after
ATTN: HEALTH SCIENCE STUDENTSIf you are in the older curriculum:
HLTH 312 or 423 may be used as a sub for HLTH 434HLTH 425 may be used as a sub for HLTH 439
If you are in the current/new curriculum:
Beginning Fall 2020, students will no longer be able to take 440 & 447 concurrently. Please plan these two classes accordingly. They
are offered both Fall and Winter.
ATTN: EPIDEMIOLOGY STUDENTSHLTH 440, 447, 449 (Fall only), and 493 (Winter only) must all be taken in order, NOT concurrently. Beginning Fall 2020, students will no longer
be able to take 440 & 447 concurrently.
HLTH 345 will only be offered during WINTER semesters
ATTN: ENV/OCC STUDENTSWhen planning your classes try to take HLTH 324 sooner rather than later. It is a prerequisite for other classes (426, 428, 329). It sets the student up for more success in future OH/EH courses. Taking it early
allows for students to obtain summer jobs in the field of OH/EH.
The same is also true for 322. These two courses act as the EH/OH core that set students up for success in later courses. Taking these
concurrently with other EH/OH courses has proven to be difficult for students (at least at the beginning).
Are you PRE-MED, PRE-DENTAL, PRE-PA, etc?
The Pre-professional Advisement Center office will be holding pre-health prerequisite planning and personal statement
workshops, which students are required to attend before they can make an appointment with PPA advisors to discuss their
personal statement or classes for their respective fields of interests. They also will be holding a Pre-Health Wednesday
Workshop Series each week from 2-3PM covering a variety of topics.
All of these dates and topics can be found under the Pre-Health
tab: https://ppa.byu.edu/webinars.
