What is the Internet?
The internet is a global system of interconnected computer networks.
The internet uses a set of protocol called the TCP/IP.
What is the Internet?
World Wide Web
Commonly known as the www or the web.
It is a service provided by the internet.
Its outstanding feature is Hypertext link.
An example of hypertext is http://www.yahoo.com.sg/
Connecting to the Internet
Subscribe to an Internet Service Provider (ISP)
Examples of local ISP are- Starhub- M1- SingNet- SuperInternet
Internet Addressing
Every computer has an IP (Internet Protocol) Address.
It is used to locate another computer in the Internet.
An example of an IP version 4 address is 192.168.0.3

Domain Name System (DNS)
The IP Address 192.150.8.53 is difficult to remember.
Domain Name System translate the IP address to meaningful names like www.adobe.com

FTP – File Transfer Protocol is the set of rules to exchange files between computers in the internet.
