The KTE Challenge for VPH in Sri Lanka Success and enthusiasm built up in T-C
project challenging the knowledgesharing capacity of traditionalcommunication face to face meetings,print reports and publications etc.
Cross agency and internationalcollaboration requires more rapid andmore stable and sustained knowledgeflow pipelines.
Need to share different kinds ofknowledge encoded, experiential,embedded (tacit).

Our solution
Develop a connected, web-based VPH KTE networkbuilt on professional social networks and Web 2.0
tools.
(i) broaden and create new channels for knowledge
flow, (ii) expand the number of connected knowledge
nodes in the veterinary public health sphere;
(iii) improve knowledge relations across Ministries,
universities and nations to speed the exchange and
application of expertise and knowledge to
preparedness, response and research agendas

Requirements analysis what dowe need, what will work, what willmotivate use? Methods: surveys,interviews and stakeholder visits.
Translate into menu of featuresand tools. (January July 2010)
