Congratulations to all of our students for a very successful 2018. There has been some fantastic learning throughout the year which has seen each of our students make personal progress against their Learning Goals. They should all be very proud of themselves, as we are all proud of them.
I would like to thank the teaching staff for their hard work and professionalism .This has assisted us in maintaining a high standard of education as acknowledged by RPS being recognised as a school of ‘Influence’ within our Region.
I wish all families a safe and happy holiday—thankyou all for your amazing support of our school. Whether its through helping out in class, at working bees or as a School Council member—your work is vital in creating a community that ensures success for all of our students.
II look forward to seeing you all back safe and happy in 2019.

Goodbye and good luck to all graduating grade 6 students
All of you will be missed by us all
On Monday the 10th of December the Grade Sixes had their graduation at the Richmond Bowls Club. The night started at Six O’clock when the girls pulled up in a bright pink hummer. Soon after we sat down and started listening to speeches by teachers and students alike. After the first speeches were done we ate dinner which was Chicken Parma, salad and chips, then we listened to the rest of the speeches and watched as the awards were presented. The night ended at nine thirty after we watched a film full of funny and cute baby photos then everyone had their fair share of lollies from the lolly bar and danced like maniacs at the disco. It was a great night that all of us will remember for a long time. By Felix and Sonny

Grade 3/4T 2019—Use of the Library With our pending building works we will see the school need to make adjustments until the works are finished. The Corridor Conversion Project is creating a new class space in the space beside the staffroom on the first floor. Until this work is finished Todd’s new Grade 3/4 class will be based in the Library. We hope the project will be completed by week 4 of the term when they will be able to move into their new space. In the meantime Yan will be taking her program in the classrooms and the staff will be without access to the staffroom. We know our resilient students and staff will get through this testing period.
Last week’s clue:
Change one letter in this Grade 6 student’s name, and you’ll have the name of someone who’ll fit you for a nice suit!
Answer: W: TAYLOR Phelps 6S (A ‘tailor’ makes you a suit.)
Winner: : Chloe Hedger 1/2S … watch for the man in the RED suit, Chloe That’s it for this year’s KIDQUIZ. Well done to everyone who entered during the year. Thanks to vice-captains Claudia and Alexander for presenting it at assemblies. See you in 2019, when we’ll have a whole bunch of new preps and other students for Quiz names!
Dear Parents
Please note that 29th and 30th January are pupil free days and Richmond Oshclub will be running pupil free day care on these days subject to minimum bookings being met. Please book via the Iparent Portal.
We will also be running extended after school care on the last day of school this Friday December 21st
Holiday program brochures are now available, please pop into the GP room to pick up a brochure for this upcoming school holidays.
Have a great week, Trish and Ellen
Holidays Update The school will be a busy place throughout the holiday period. We have builders lined up to complete a range of projects. This includes the next phase of refurbishment for the Grade 1/2 area including painting, carpet and new lighting; the Corridor Conversion Project we hope to see begun later in January and we have some garden works also booked in. We have a moni-tored removal of asbestos happening this Saturday and Sunday. This material is non-friable vinyl tile that we have had re-moved before by specialist removalists. They seal off the area and monitor the air quality to ensure safe removal. Please be advised that we will be closing off the playground to allow the removalists access to the site on both these days.
Summer Watering Help We are looking for volunteers to help with the watering in Nick’s Garden through the summer. We particularly need helpers for the period between Christmas and January 6. You will be given access to the tap head and hoses—please sign up via the following online form: https://goo.gl/forms/2zQfzxgan3PLwpkR2
