Lane County Courthouse - 125 E. 8th Avenue - Vigil at 9:00 am and hearing at 10:00 am
Pre-Hearing Vigil and Court Hearing for the Local Self-Government Charter Amendment
Have you noticed that two initiatives are not on the ballot this November? They are the Freedomfrom Aerial Herbicides Bill of Rights and the Right to Local Community Self-Government CharterAmendment. Currently. Both measures are in the courts on appeal with an initial hearing on Nov5th.
Has the county, through its actions, violated the rights of the petitioners and the public, denyingthem their First Amendment rights, as well as thwarting the people's co-equal lawmaking power?
Who decides? Our communities or big corporations?

Talking points:
1. Are we reaching our emissions reduction goals?
Gmail - We Will Not Be Daunted https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1?ik=81ecd6c22d&view=pt&search=...
8 of 13 11/3/18, 11:06 AM
2. What are the penalties for not reaching our Climate Recovery Ordinance mandated goals?
3. The incentives are backwards: we need incentives for switching TO electricity, not forswitching TO fracked gas. Can this be changed in the review of the Northwest Natural Gas(NWNG) Franchise Agreement?
4. What is the public outreach and feedback plan? The survey on the web site is confusing.
5. Could we increase the fee in the new NWNG Franchise Agreement and make the contractduration much shorter (not 20 years)? We could use the fee increase to fund fuel-switchingincentives to electricity.
6. To bring down community emissions we have to transition off all fossil fuels. Why doesn’t theCity of Eugene pass the proposed No New Fossil Fuel Infrastructure ordinance that 350 Eugeneoffered in December 2017?
