The Division of Student Affairs serves the entire Auburn community — students, faculty, staff, parents, and friends of Auburn University. Our promise is to be the best we can be for Auburn students. It is an effort to transform the Division of Student Affairs from good to great with a relentless focus on students.

In this brochure, we outline who we are and how our service is aimed at one thing – empowering Auburn students to change the world.

GOALSStudent LearningThrough collaboration with university and community partners, enhance co-curricular learning opportunities that result in student learning with positive educational outcomes. These opportunities are intentional, measurable, and connected to the academic mission of the university.

Student EngagementProviding opportunities for all students to actively engage in socially fulfilling and educationally purposeful experiences in and out of the classroom. These experiences encourage individual development, meaningful relationships, and personal responsibility.

Student RetentionCommitted to advancing the university’s retention efforts through a welcoming, supportive environment that encourages academic success and social integration, leading to graduation.

Health, Wellness, & SafetyCommitted to the health, wellness, and safety of all students. We empower students to make safe and healthy decisions in their personal lives by enhancing academic success through a comprehensive wellness model. This model provides students with a sustained, balanced lifestyle.

CAMPUS RECREATIONCampus Recreation provides quality recreational, fitness, and wellness programs that meet the needs of Auburn University students, faculty, and staff. These programs promote student well-being and contribute to the lifetime patterns of healthy living.

In order to provide the best opportunities for recreation and fitness, a new state-of-the-art facility is currently being planned and developed to meet the needs of the entire Auburn family. This modern facility will enhance the university experience by promoting personal, social, and physical development through quality services and diverse programs.

HEALTH PROMOTION& WELLNESS SERVICESHealth Promotion and Wellness Services provides educational and wellness programs, prevention efforts, and other healthy initiatives to enhance the well-being of Auburn student and the campus community. To advance student success and create a healthy, safe, and positive learning environment, this office advocates for supportive, living-learning environments where all students are given equal access to available opportunities.

Using assessment and research as a foundation for developing initiatives, Health Promotion and Wellness Services utilizes peer educators, workshops, consultations, training, and social media initiatives to reach individuals, student groups, and the Auburn campus community.

RESIDENCE LIFEResidence Life is committed to providing residents with inclusive, educational, diverse and supportive communities that support academic success, personal wellness, leadership development and social responsibility. Hall Directors and Resident Assistants provide support as residents pursue their educational goals, and offer leadership involvement activities for “out of the classroom” learning and engagement. Residence Life assesses resident satisfaction and needs with the purpose of continual progress toward providing the best living-learning environments possible.

GREEK LIFEThe Office of Greek Life provides guidance and support to 51 nationally affiliated fraternities and sororities. This office guides the overall programming for the Greek community, provides opportunities for interpersonal development, teaches leadership skills, and provides educational sessions about risk management issues.

This office continually assesses the fraternity and sorority community to ensure that Greek Life serves as a positive contributor to student life on campus.

STUDENT INVOLVEMENTThe Office of Student Involvement provides students with the opportunities to become involved in a variety of programs, receive training, and acquire skills that prepare them for success in their chosen professions.

The Center for Leadership & EthicsProvides opportunities for student leadership development through programs including the LeaderShape Institute, fall and spring leadership conferences, and small group workshops.

The Office of Community ServicePromotes community service locally, domestically, and internationally by providing programs, events, and continuous projects throughout the school year.

The Office of International Student LifeCoordinates and sponsors educational and social programs for international students including the annual Peace Dinner, World’s Fair, and the Auburn Friend Program.

The Student Government AssociationThe voice of the students, promoting communication with the faculty, administration, and local government. This group coordinates numerous student projects, sponsors activities, and promotes the welfare of the student body.

The University Program CouncilThe university’s student-led program board. This council’s 11 committees organize events including movies, comedians, major concerts, workshops, lectures, and cultural performances.

MEDICAL CLINICThe Auburn University Medical Clinic provides high quality, efficient, and convenient health care with compassion, dedication, and professionalism. The clinic strives to provide consistent service to patients, exceeding expectations at every encounter by being flexible, remaining competitive, and focusing on the holistic needs of every patient.

STUDENT CONDUCTThe Office of Student Conduct is responsible for the administration of the Code of Student Discipline and provides a fair and educational student conduct process for students and student organizations. This office also educates the Auburn University community about student responsibilities, rights, and expectations. Additionally, Dean Certification requests are processed and completed by the Office of Student Conduct.

STUDENT COUNSELING SERVICES

Student Counseling Services is the primary counseling center for Auburn University’s undergraduate and graduate student community. This office provides comprehensive, preventative and clinical mental health services to enhance the psychological well-being of individual students, as well as the broader campus culture.

Student Counseling Services is committed to supporting the academic, retention, and student development missions of Auburn University, so students have a balanced university experience and take full advantage of the educational opportunities at the university.

STUDENT MEDIA & PUBLICATIONSStudent Media and Publications are the combined student activities groups dedicated to producing student-run broadcast and publishing programs. These programs provide leadership and involvement experience to students pursuing careers in media.

STUDENT CENTERWith over 184,000 square feet, the Auburn University Student Center provides facilities and services that support the social, personal and intellectual development of individual students and student groups. Last year over 3 million people visited the Student Center while they were on campus.

The Auburn University Student Center is the Auburn family’s home away from home. Some of the services available in the Auburn University Student Center include: ATM Machines, Copy Cat, food venues, game lounge, Tiger Card Center, TV and study lounges, and e-mail kiosks.

PARENT & FAMILY PROGRAMSThe Office of Parent and Family Programs is the campus link for all Auburn University parents. This office facilitates communication between the university and parents, provides opportunities for parents to be actively involved in the life of the university, sponsors programs for parents to attend, and provide additional services to meet the needs of Auburn parents.
