Castiglion del Bosco was one of the founding producers of the Consorzio del Vino Brunello di

Montalcino, established in 1967. The winery is renowned not only for its history, but also for its

extent: 62 hectares (153 acres) of vineyards of which 51 hectares (126 acres) grow Sangiovese for

Brunello, making Castiglion del Bosco the fifth largest Brunello estate out of 230.

THE WINE EXPERIENCE

This private wine tour is divided into three parts: a visit to our vineyard, a tour of the winery

and a tasting of 6 wines. A walk through the spectacular Capanna vineyard gives guests the

opportunity to discover the unique microclimate and soil that nourish the Sangiovese Grosso for

Brunello di Montalcino, while admiring one of Tuscany’s most stunning panoramic views.

By visiting the cellars at the winery, our guests can learn about all the attention to detail that is

required throughout the winemaking process; explore the cellar where our top wines are aged in

oak barrels and experience the incredible atmosphere of the exclusive “Members’ Cellar”.

To complete the experience, guests can partake in a wine tasting of six of our wines, including

our Cru of Brunello di Montacino, which are sampled together with a selection of the best

Tuscan cheeses, fresh home-made bread, our extra virgin olive oil and honey.

THE VERTICAL TASTING

This extraordinary vertical tasting of seven of our remarkable Brunello di Montalcino is a must

for wine lovers visiting Tuscany and seeking an unforgettable wine experience.

By visiting the cellars at the winery, our guests can learn about the attention to detail required

throughout the winemaking process, while exploring the cellar where our top wines are aged in

oak barrels. The vertical tasting is held in a private room overlooking the beautifully lit

Barricaia. While immersed in captivating surroundings, guests will enjoy four of the winery’s

finest vintages of our Brunello di Montalcino, two vintages from the ‘90’s best years of our

Riserva di Brunello and the first vintage of our renowned single vineyard “Campo del Drago.”

To accompany the tasting, our guests will be served a selection of the best Tuscan cheeses, fresh

home-made bread, our extra virgin olive oil and honey.

THE CORAVIN EXPERIENCE

Discover how Brunello di Montalcino develops with age through this guided tasting of 6

Castiglion del Bosco very old vintages, from early 1990’s down to the end of 1960’s, thanks to

CoravinTM high technology system. The tasting is held in a private room overlooking the

beautifully lit Barricaia. A unique experience for wine lovers.

Thanks to the CoravinTM system, we will share with you the oldest and most prestigious vintages

we ever produced and that we preserved with great care in our private cellar for decades.

Starting from 1990 vintage, we will go back to the 1967, which is the same year when Castiglion

del Bosco founded the “Consorzio del Vino Brunello di Montalcino” together with other six

wineries.

Through the years of its aging Brunello loses part of its acidity and tannins that are very

recognizable characteristics in its youth and becomes smooth and round, with elegant bouquet.

You will discover the fantastic world of meditation wines.

To accompany the tasting, our guests will be served a selection of the best Tuscan cheeses, fresh

home-made bread, our extra virgin olive oil and honey.
