We are now in pre‑launch … An exciting new strategy is being adopted that will be reflected in Rhema FM’s presentation both on air and on the ground … a theme that underscores the core of God’s plan to reflect the process of creating His family through Jesus Christ. “… you are all children of God through faith.” (Galatians 3:26) ‘We’re f families!’ A major part of Rhema FM’s ministry therefore is to participate in proclaiming the message of Elijah prophesied in Malachi 4:6 “and he shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers” … which was also a reference to the ministry of John the Baptist in preparing the way for our Messiah’s first coming in Luke 1:17 and Matthew 3:3. With the pressures on the family unit in modern day society in these last days this crucial message has never been more urgent … we see the importance of this in Revelation 11:3 where another Elijah will be raised up to prepare the way for Christ’s imminent second coming and the establishment of His kingdom! (Rev 11:15 and Rev 19:6,7) We encourage you to become more involved in what the Lord is doing through Rhema FM, while building closer relationships with Jesus and your own family and supporting others to do the same. The reality is that the Lord is building His house of whose house we are (1 Peter 2:5) … we all share in the personal ministry of building one another up in the faith (1 Thess. 5:11) ... and we are truly to be a people “prepared for the Lord!” … let’s be about our Father’s business (Luke 2:49). Planning for the future is an odd thing as a Christian. On the one hand, we all want to look forward to this and that. Plan for the kid’s schooling, plan for retirement … whatever stage of life we’re at.

And yet on the other, Jesus exhorts us not to worry about tomorrow, and live for today (Matthew 6:25–34). After all, we’re meant to live by faith not by sight.

So, should Christians plan for the future or not? That’s the question.

The Bible has this to say about forward planning: Without vision, the people perish. (Proverbs 29:18).

So vision is important. But not human plans or vision. The original Hebrew word for “vision” there, literally means “prophecy” or “revelation”.

So the whole point of Christians planning for the future, is to get a sense of what God is doing; in which direction He wants us to follow.

Again, Jesus said “Truly I tell you, the son only does what he sees the Father doing.” (John 5:19)

So planning for the future, casting a vision, is really about getting in touch with what God has planned. Awesome!

MEMBERSHIP

RENEWALWe at Rhema FM offer up prayers of

thanksgiving for you as spoken by

Paul in 1 Thess. 1:2,3 & 9 and value your membership.

Thank you for RENEWING your

membership when it falls due on 1 July.

CELEBRATE JESUSThe 10th annual “Celebrate Jesus” event was held on Saturday, 19 March at Bain Park, Wauchope. This presented Rhema FM with the third opportunity to broadcast live from this initiative of the Wauchope Minister’s Association and be part of the action.

What was particularly significant was the first-time use of Rhema’s new outside broadcast unit that was purchased from funds generated from a recent ‘Shine the Light’ dinner and other contributions. It provides a wonderful opportunity for outreach.

Station Manager Werner Egger was thrilled that he sound quality produced by the equipment was very good. Alan Sharpham did a sterling job in operating the unit and producing on-air interviews prior to and at the event.

Praise God for His blessing!

An annual opportunity to express our gratitude to God ... and to count our blessings which are many!

What are you thankful for?

For us as the family of God giving thanks to our heavenly Father is also a daily devotion. Giving thanks is to under‑score everything we say and do - see Psalm 100:4, Psalm 106:1, Col. 3:17 & 1 Thess. 5:18.

DAVE GEORGEDave is an intrepid traveller with a passion for photography … he returned late last year from Texas where he successfully completed his College degree after 10 years of study. He’s returning there in June to work and perhaps pursue a Masters degree.

Dave is an experienced gardener and over the summer and autumn months he has been diligently keeping the lawns at Rhema FM in tip top shape.

Thank you Dave, you are a wonderful example in the faith and we appreciate your positive input to the upkeep of our local Christian radio station.

Rhema FM ‑ making a difference! Can God really speak to you through radio broadcasts?? ... He sure can! Here’s what Brian has to say about the media ministry of Rhema FM,

‘I have been listening to Rhema for a number of years - in fact it is virtually the only radio station I listen to now … I find hearing and focusing on God’s word at the end of the day helps me examine my own walk with God and my shortcomings for the day ... It inspires me to focus more fully on what plans and opportunities God has for me in the days and weeks ahead.’

PAM HATAPam has recently taken on the role of Sponsorship sales for Rhema FM through her marketing business, Pam Hata Music. Originally from New Zealand where she came to faith, Pam has also carved out a budding career as a singer /songwriter. She has produced several CDs and is a regular on the local entertainment circuit.

Pam is a devoted mum of 2 children and possesses that ‘can-do’ and friendly attitude that reinforces the positive message of hope that Rhema FM is broadcasting to our community. And God has been blessing her efforts. The increase that He is providing will be used for the employment of an on-air announcer to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ & the Kingdom of God.

From the Manager’s Desk

Strategic PlanningWe all need to make plans with check points, to guide us in a particular direction we’d like to be heading. If we don’t, there’s a tendency to go round in circles with a sense of frustration... a feeling that we’re not really getting anywhere or achieving anything. Most will have heard the cliché, ’If you fail to plan... you plan to fail’.

Of course there are all sorts of plans we can make. I hope your plans revolve around what God has in mind for you (Is 48:17 NIV) ...because the good can be the enemy of the best! And I think we’ll all agree that God’s plans are the best for us!

As partners with your local media ministry, please join with me in prayer for God’s wisdom and leading as the Board and Management of Rhema FM, with yet to be confirmed professional consultation, develops a new 5 year strategic plan for the future.

Thank you and God bless!

‘We’re for families!’We may think that our feet are not particularly attractive items but did you know that God tells us how we can have beautiful feet! Isaiah 52:7 gives us the answer which has to do with sharing the Gospel. As members of the Rhema FM media ministry we have the unique blessing to contribute directly to our heavenly Father’s important work. Paul talks of us being God’s fellow workers in 1 Corinthians 3:9 …

Your generous gift (Exodus 25:2) will be used to nurture and encourage Rhema FM listeners and their families with words of life …

How beautiful is that!

Joining the Rhema Board......last November was an exciting milestone for me in my Christian walk. Back in 1964 as a teenager I came across the Gospel being preached one Sunday night on 2KM Kempsey. The seed was sown then but it wasn’t until 1978 that I actually started attending church in Sydney! Another milestone, the beginning of a daily walk with our Saviour that has continued over the last 38 years!

During that time I’ve had a family, several jobs, numerous moves, disappointments and many blessings and faith building opportunities. We can be greatly encouraged by the promise in Phil 1:6, He who has begun a good work in you will perform it unto the day of Jesus Christ.

What a wonderful hope we have to share, both personally and as part of the Rhema FM family.
