St John Fisher Feast Day The whole school community celebrated St John Fisher's Feast day. St John Fisher is the Patron Saint
of our school and provides inspiration to all of us.
The school gathered
together on Thursday for a special
Mass. Father John
presented to us a brief history of St
John Fisher's life and His importance in the
history of our Church. Children read prayers and we all joined in and
said prayers. All children received a special St John
Fisher Key ring, specially commissioned by the PTA. Above is a few children showing off their gifts.
This was a special Mass as the whole school community
came together to say farewell to Mrs Speller on her last
day at school after twenty four years. Mrs Speller came to St John Fisher as a child and has seen a few
generation of children. She was presented with a giant card especially created by each class and other gifts
from staff and parents. Thank you to all who joined in this special day and
celebrations.

Author Visit – 11th July
Our very own author
Peter Pleydell, under
the pseudonym of ‘John
Halden’, has written a
wonderful children’s
book called, “School
Out Of Time”. Mr
Pleydell volunteers his
time to read regularly to
the children at St. John
Fisher Catholic Primary
School.
We have invited him to read to Year 4, 5 and 6 for the launch of his new book on 11th July. Following the event, children can purchase a copy of the book at a discounted price of £5.50, which Mr ‘Halden’ will sign on the day of purchase. If your child would like to purchase a book, please send £5.50 in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name by 23rd June to help us with the numbers prior to the launch. We wish John Halden much success with his newly released book and hope he sells many copies. Thank you for your support.

Sports Clubs – Summer 1 - 2017
Please note:
* After school clubs will not run the first and last week of term. Clubs will run the week before and after half terms. * Clubs marked in blue are open to all children within that age group/ gender. * Clubs marked in brown are organised by selection. Children will be notified. * Clubs marked in green are run externally. * Clubs are mostly run by Teachers/support staff volunteering their own time. It is therefore vital that children abide by the school’s behavioural expectations in order to enjoy these opportunities. If this is not found to be the case, the child will not participate until the behaviour is rectified. If the club is after school, the parents of the child will be notified a week in advance.
