2019 Cardinal’s Appeal Update

We are at the midway point of meeting our goal (58 %) for the
Cardinal’s appeal. If you haven’t given yet, please prayerfully consider
making a donation. Our Parish goal is $81,000 and we have received
$46,853.19 in pledges to date.

You may go to the link on our website or to www.cardinalsappeal.org to donate.
     Thank you!
The doors that matter most are at the entrances to our nearly 300 parishes. That's why, on
the Cardinal’s Appeal Annual Stewardship Appeal’s 40th anniversary, the focus is entirely on
keeping our parishes healthy and vibrant.

you have chosen to entrust
the human person to mothers in a special way.
We thank and praise you for the gift of mothers;
for their tenderness, care, and compassion,
for their intuition and encouragement,
for commitment and sacrifice.
Bless all mothers this day.
Keep, strengthen, and refresh them
in your loving care.
May they be blessed by our openhearted
love and gratitude.
Amen.

Dear Parishioners,
I hope you had a blessed and enjoyable Holy Week and Easter.
While away on retreat, I prayed for you, and for the vitality and spirit
of our dear St. ChristopherSt. Sylvia Parish Family.
If you were away during Easter, there is still time to send in your
Easter contribution. Our parish relies on these funds for expenses
and maintenance of our Church.
Thank you for your generosity,

Happy Mother’s Day from Formed.org!
Read: A Mother’s Rule of Life
On Jan. 1, 2000, Holly Pierlot pounded her
fist on the kitchen table and yelled at her
husband, “I can’t take it anymore!” Motherhood and
homeschooling had overwhelmed her. The house was
dirty, the laundry undone. Holly felt frustrated,
discouraged, and alone. She couldn’t find time to
snuggle and have fun with her five children or to go out
with her husband. Yes, she loved Philip and she did
love God, but she had come to resent Philip’s freedom,
and she almost never found time for prayer.
Today, everything’s better. Holly brought about
changes with what she calls her Mother’s Rule of Life,
a pattern for living that combines the spiritual wisdom
of the monastery with the practical wisdom of
motherhood. With your own Mother’s Rule of Life,
you’ll transform motherhood and its burdens into the
joyful vocation it’s meant to be.
Listen: Feminine Genius
Building upon Pope St. John Paul II's
writings about "the feminine genius,
Colleen Carroll Campbell discusses the
uniqueness of the nature and vocation of women, both
gifts from God. She uses the lives of several female
saints to help women recognize and use their gifts to
live out their faith as Christians in the modern world.
Author and columnist Campbell hosts EWTN'sFaith
