Tulips!
In the fall, my dad and I planted tulips in our yard. The tulips looked like onions when we planted them.

We had to put a big rock ontop of each one, so that the squirels
didn't dig them up.
When the snow melted we removed the rocks. The stems and leaves came out of the ground first.

Then the flowers came out.
Some of them were bitten off by the squirrels. They didn't eat
them. They bit them off and left them on the ground. Maybe they didn't like the taste?

Inside the flower are stamen. The little bulges at the top of the stamen are called the anther.
This is where the pollen is. The pollen is what the bees like.

When lots of bees start coming to our yard, that's when I know spring is really here. And also my dad starts talking about baseball all the time!
My dad likes tulips but he loves baseball!
