Biotical IBD Biomarker is a newnon-invasive test to monitor the status of the intestinal mucosa in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), showing a significant correlation with endoscopic activity. The capacity of the test to determine activity in patients with Chron’s disease and ulcerative colitis has demonstrated to outperform the current non-invasive tests, having the capability to reduce the number of colonoscopies to perform for the follow-up of the disease.
Inflammatory bowel disease encompasses group of diseases causing inflammatory processes in the digestive system. Is estimated that it affects more than 2.5 million people in Europe and 1 million in the USA. Both Chron’s disease and ulcerative colitis share the chronic nature and alternate periods with active inflammation with remission periods, thus requiring a seamless evaluation of the activity to adapt the therapeutic strategy and hamper the disease progression and its complications.

We propose technologic solutions that have enabled to develop Biotical IBD Biomarker, a tool able to determine the status of the intestinal mucosa in patients with IBD. Twenty years of first-level research have generated an innovative product, precise, efficient, and comfortable to improve the quality of life of patients with IBD.
Biotical IBD Biomarker is based on the detection of a bacterial signature specific to the disease. The test has been clinically validated in collaboration with different referent hospitals.
The test is carried out under a quality system certified by ISO13485, necessary for diagnostic products.
