Question: Other comments?

Response Rate: 22.22% (2 of 9)

1 I've learned so much more from Mr. Way that just what is in the book or My IT Lab. He gives a well rounded lecture.

2

I believe that the way in which Professor Way instructs his class is top notch. Even though he gets some flack from students because THEY are not understanding the work. He gives students all of hit time and attention when they need it, he is even available for office hours well before and after class. He is a lot more patient then I would be with some of the students.

Question: What recommendations would you make for improving this course?

Response Rate: 11.11% (1 of 9)

1A little bit more information on how these technologies & I formation correlate in the work place. More Iformation on problem solving computer problems & now to use the technology to be a better employee or "business person"

Question: What three (3) things did you like least about this course?

Response Rate: 22.22% (2 of 9)

1Not enough information about becoming a

"proficient computer user."

The amount of time not spent on learning "how to do" actual business office techniques on computer while

Page 10 of 54Survey Report

1/26/2014https://courseval.gc.edu/etw/ets/et.asp

2in class room.

Not having practice techniques on using computers while in class room.

Question: What three (3) things did you like most about this course?

Response Rate: 22.22% (2 of 9)

1 I have learned a lot about new technology through the in class demonstrations.

2Mr. Way was interesting and totally knows about computers. His videos were all very interesting to watch in class. His lectures were interesting as well , with thought provoking discussions. He is very helpful with students having a hard time understanding the lab assignments and worked with each of us as needed.

Question: Would you recommend this course to another student? Please explain your answer.

Response Rate: 44.44% (4 of 9)

1 I would recommend Mr. Way. He's a great instructor and it's obvious he knows his subject very well. This course will help anyone that is not well versed in computer applications and software.

2 Yes. Overall it is a good course & it helps that the computers actually work & are available

3 Absolutely. If you do not know a lot about computers then this is the class for you and Professor Way is your professor.

4yes , because the knowledge Mr. Way has on the function and future of computers is amazing. You will learn what to buy, how to buy, what is inside computer, its guts, bites, ROMs, RAMs , smartphone, ipads, tablets. Great videos on history and progress of computers.

Question: Other comments?

Response Rate: 57.14% (4 of 7)

1Instructor commands respect but does not give it. Accuses students of cheating when they are clearly unable to do so. Tells students to converse on the syllabus, yet when students help each other to better understand the material, accuses them of cheating and gives them a failing grade on assignments.

2 Fun class and very learnable even if the topic is really hard.

3 none

4 none

Question: What recommendations would you make for improving this course?

Response Rate: 57.14% (4 of 7)

1 Remove the instructor who does not care about the students and bring in a teacher who actually cares about the material and teaching.

2 Make the classrom more lively and more relevant

3

I would replace the instructor because she does not teach or help students she tells us to look in the book and it doesnt awnser the questions that we have. We also get yelled at when we help each other when she does not awnser questions or it is not included in the book. She has deleberatly deleted work for students on there projects and made them start over. She shows favoritism too as well with the I.T. students compared to the other students and she does single students out in her class.

4 Possibly a language other than visual basic? It doesn't seem that useful in the outside world.

Question: What three (3) things did you like least about this course?

Response Rate: 42.86% (3 of 7)

1 Teacher. The material is great, yet the teacher make students dread going to class.

2 none

3 assigned seating for quizzes, errors in the book and online site supporting the book.

Question: What three (3) things did you like most about this course?

Response Rate: 57.14% (4 of 7)

1 The material is engaging

2 The use of visual basic

3 the teacher is understanding and cares about her students she does a fine job about what she does

4 Learning a new and useful skill, having an instructor who knows the subject in a real world context, not just a classroom one, and the feeling of solving puzzles which sometimes comes with creating programs.

Question: Would you recommend this course to another student? Please explain your answer.

Response Rate: 71.43% (5 of 7)

1 I would recommend this course only if there was a different instructor.

2 Yes. For computer majors, this is great first step for learning.

3 Yes beacuase she does her job well

4 No I would not recomend this class to another student because of the instructor.

5 I would, assuming they wanted to learn to program. It's very straightforward.
