Note from Your President THINGS TO KNOW All members are invited to attend the CT District 1 on Tuesday, March 26th in Milford [Bridgeport Chapter host] Detailed information is included on Page 2!! This month, our Chapter Dinner Meeting will take place on WEDNESDAY, MARCH 27th [Note Date Change] WARC will honor UNICO at their Annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser in May. More details to follow! I have run out of letters in UNICO to provide me with a topic for my message, but I don't worry—I found something to say!! What I would like to tell you is that now is the time to put UNICO’s motto of Service Above Self in action. Most of us joined UNICO for two reasons—to honor our Italian Heritage and to make a difference. To do either, we must get involved. Our Chapter needs YOU to make US successful. And you need to GIVE of yourself to GET something out of membership. Right now, we are looking for someone to Chair our Duck Day Raffle Sales—not a hard job, just takes a few hours commitment. We need ideas for a Service Project….be creative, there are no wrong answers. We need help with our Golf Tournament—enjoy the day in the sun! Most of all—we are looking for YOU to step up and serve as an Officer, Committee Chair or Delegate—it’s the time to learn more about UNICO on a local and district/national level! Change is good—and if you want to add your expertise or suggestions to what we’re doing– we are open! Just because ―someone has been chairing this or serving as this for years‖ doesn’t mean it’s set in stone…..we welcome your input, ideas and assistance AND I’m sure a number of us will ―let go of the reins‖ in order to give someone else a chance! So if there’s something you’re interested in—talk to me or the existing Chair - we NEED your help, we WANT your assistance and we WELCOME your service Hope to see you all at the next Dinner Meting and thank you for your commitment to UNICO!!! A big thank you is sent out to everyone who attended and sold
tickets for our Annual Charlie Lanza Memorial
Italian Corned Beef Dinner.
While the date change may have affected our attendance, we still
had over 450 enjoy a tasty meal prepared by LaBella Vista and
sold 500 delicious chocolate, vanilla & ricotta zeppole from Shop Rite of Waterbury!!!
Not sure if people were
feeling “extra lucky” but we netted $538 from our
50/50++ Raffle!!! Additional raffle prize donations provided by
Peter Petrarca—cutting boards, Dr. Carmine Paolino—champagne and
Francine Nido - wine!!
We will report on our profit once all
the figures are calculated.
Special thanks are sent to Francine Nido and Don Mancuso for chairing
the event and to all our dedicated UNICANS, family & friends for
volunteering that evening!!
Next year’s event is scheduled for 3/12!!!

Naugatuck Chamber’s Annual Duck Day Race Raffle Tickets!!! Commitment involves coordinating ticket distribution with our
members; arranging for location sales and publicity.

Ticket sales start mid-April and continue to the end of May. UNICO will receive $2.50 from every ticket we sell. Each ticket has a chance to win one of 50++prizes!!
