Aqua Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization which undertakes all necessary initiatives for scientific and social knowledge creation and diffusion regarding water and its vital role in human survival. With an aim to facilitate exchange of information, expertise and technology among water experts from various countries, Aqua Foundation conducts an annual conference on water, titled - “World Aqua Congress”, Conference, Aqua Excellence Awards and Workshops. High profile dignitaries, senior officers from Ministries, renowned Commercial Industrialists belonging to Water Industry, policy makers and leading NGOs participate and witness the event. The recommendations of the conference are widely circulated, resulting in concrete action for management and sustainable development of this vital resource...WATER

thRecognizing the need for long term planning for Water, VI World Aqua Congress 2012 will discuss present issues, current status of planning, directions and roadmap for future. This will enable policy makers, planners, researchers and industry to share a common vision, resulting in effective action for this vital resource.The main theme being Water : Vision 2050 we look forward to come up with concrete and practical workable roadmap. This time the approach is to include each segment in the planning and execution. Water belongs to each one and so does the problems then execution also require each one of ours involvement. Water : Vision 2050 will hopefully be beginning of a new era for Water.

Following themes broadly describe the focus areas of deliberations, with a certain degree of overlapping. Being a vision oriented congress; the structure is flexible and will evolve depending on research contributions received from participants:

Aqua Excellence AwardsThe "Aqua Awards" are the highest awards given by Aqua Foundation to its members & stakeholders in recognition of their outstanding achievements in the field of WATER & Environment, starting from the year 2009. The recipient of this prestigious award in 2010 included Dr. S.Z. Qasim- Former Member, Planning Commission, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri (Lifetime Achievement Award- Category Individual), Dr. D K Chadha- Ex-chairman Central Ground Water Board (Professional Excellence- Category Individual) and ONGC (Corporate Social Responsibility- Water). The Aqua Excellence Awards are being given to institutions, companies and individuals for their excellent performance in the respective areas. Awardees are the major contributors to water management and our efforts are to bring them to the fore and set examples for others to learn. We believe that the scope of awards needs to be wider and in coming years we will be adding more and more segments. This year we have added hospitality and housing & construction sector as a first step.
