TECHNICAL MEMORANDUM
To: Eagle Bend Metro District (EBMD)-Board of Directors
From: Mitchell Weldon and Justin Korkus, PE
Date: December 11, 2019
Subject: Water Operations Summary for October 2019
CC: Larry Moore-President-EBMD, Denise Denslow-District Manager CliftonLarsonAllen, LLC.
Project No.: 0416019.01
This Technical Memorandum provides a summary of the EBMD water operations for the month of October 2019.
Water Supply Operations
South Well:
During the month of October, the South Well operated for 256 hours (10.7 days).
The South Well average flow rate in October was 257 gpm
A total of 4.01 million gallons (MG) or 4,010 kilogallons (kgal) was delivered to the Heritage Eagle Bend (HEB) golf
course irrigation pond.
Water levels recovered from 122 to 301 feet above the transducer setting depth, or approximately 179 feet.
No unexpected down time was logged.

ECCV/WISE Waterline:
The ECCV/WISE line was not used to supplement the wells for the irrigation pond this month.
The ECCV Line was winterized on October 9, 2019.
Buchanan Tap:
The Buchanan Tap was not used to supplement the wells for the irrigation pond this month.
The Buchanan Tap was winterized on October 9, 2019.
Field Operations
Date Activity Description
10/2/19 Lamp Rynearson (Justin Korkus and Mitchell Weldon) met on-site for an operations transition
meeting with Denise Denslow, Larry Moore, and Roe Sherbert.
At 3 AM, the pond level transducer showed a large (5-ft) decrease in water level, suggesting a
transducer malfunction.
Lamp Rynearson coordinated with Roe Sherbert to leave the pumps on overnight, and to shut off
the well pumps manually the next morning if the pond was approaching capacity prior to
overflowing.
Lamp Rynearson coordinated with Browns Hill Engineering and Controls (Charles Page) to arrive
October 3, 2019 at 9am to diagnose the issue.
10/3/19 Lamp Rynearson met with Browns Hill (Charles Page) to investigate pond level transducer issues. A
previously disconnected backup transducer was reconnected and switched to be the primary
transducer in control of pump operations. The main transducer within the PVC stilling pipe is
suspected to have malfunctioned.
10/9/19 Lamp Rynearson met with South Metro Water Supply Authority (Matt Grunder) and two Aurora
Water technicians at the ECCV vaults for winterization.

SMWSA closed their valve from the ECCV line. Aurora opened the meter vault and closed both gate
valves. Aurora operators took a final reading (017280) and opened drain valve downstream of both
gate valves. SMWSA left site and opened butterfly valve (BFV) at irrigation pond remotely to drain
ECCV line.
Lamp Rynearson and Aurora proceeded to Buchanan tap. Aurora closed inlet isolation valve to vault
(in street) and took final reading (03435). Heritage Eagle Bend Golf Club (Hector) arrived and
explained that the outlet gate valve from the meter vault was closed and HEB staff had previously
blown out line between this valve and the pond.
Lamp Rynearson inspected the butterfly valve at the ECCV line and called Matt Grunder to close the
valve once the line had drained.
10/18/19 Visited ECCV vaults to meet with Antonio Ramirez, Superintendent on Aurora Raw Water line
project for T. Lowell Construction, in response to 811 locate request. Discussed project schedule
and coordination needs with District.
Pending Activities
November The wells will be shut down for winter.
Diversified Underground to provide locate of ECCV raw water line near the ECCV vaults.
Utility Locates
Lamp Rynearson monitors utility locate requests on behalf of the District for buried utilities owned and operated by
the District. Notifications sent by the Utility Notification Center of Colorado (UNCC) to Lamp Rynearson, are
reviewed, and responded to. During the month of October, Lamp Rynearson responded to 25 utility locate tickets.
No field locates were performed during October. At request of T. Lowell Construction, Diversified Underground will
locate the ECCV raw water line near the ECCV vaults in early November.
Water Production Summary
EBMD’s historical water delivery summary is provided in Table 1 from 2010 through present, and graphically in Figure 5 -
Cumulative Annual Water Deliveries by Month, and Figure 6 - Monthly Water Deliveries (2010-2019). For monthly water
