Prior to establishing Ennis Fabrics, James C. Ennis spent 22 years with LaFrance Textiles. In 1958, he was transferred to Edmonton as their Western Canadian Regional Sales Manager. It was during this time that he comprehensively learnt about textiles and the needs of his customers. James C. Ennis founded Ennis Fabrics knowing that there was a better way to service customers in the textiles and supplies industry.

On June 1, 1972, James and Lois Ennis opened their original warehouse, a 2,500 ft2 bay, in Edmonton and distributed fabrics and supplies in Northern Alberta.

Since that time, thanks to the continued support from our valued customers, Ennis Fabrics has become an international distributor of globally sourced textiles and supplies. Today, over 9,000 products are distributed throughout North America and globally from four extensive, full-service distribution centers in Toronto, Vancouver, and Indianapolis. Our forth distribution center is our wholly-owned 40,000 ft2 quality control and consolidation warehouse in Ningbo China, which is fully capable of domestic Asian trading. Ennis Fabrics also has a new international head office located in Barbados.
