AssessmentMost of our courses are taught in manageable modules and you’ll need to complete different assessments to pass each module.

Many assignments are designed to help you imagine real workplace situations and Foundation degree assessment is often linked to your workplace or a work placement. Each piece of your work is checked by us and you’ll receive detailed feedback on how well you are doing and how to improve.

Some modules contain exams, depending on the course. Full details are given in the course handbook you will be given on enrolment.

Tutor SupportWe ensure you have lots of time with your tutors. You can meet with your tutor on a regular basis to discuss your learning goals and progress. Your year group will meet for common topics such as study skills or careers talks and some classes join together occasionally, so you can meet different students and benefit from a wide range of experiences.

Money MattersAn important consideration when choosing where to study must be the quality of your course. However, we also understand you may be concerned about the costs involved with studying higher education.

We have dedicated advisors on hand to help you find out what funding is available and how you can receive it.

Most students will be entitled to apply for a student loan and our student services team can help you to complete the necessary forms.

To find out more simply contact, [email protected] or call 01926 318080

We know that a relaxed, happy and supportive environment is important for learning.

At Warwickshire College you’ll find a more personal approach with lots of individual attention and continual assessment – ensuring your learning experience is effective and fun. We aim to help you make the most of your course.

When you enrol, we ask you to choose the learning style which best suits you.

Our courses are designed to accommodate many different learning styles and our teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, practical and laboratory sessions, role-play, computer-aided learning and more. Some courses also include the option to study via distance learning. This study mode allows you to work independently and at your own pace.

Your pick… of qualificationsWarwickshire College offers a diverse range of learning programmes, with many opportunities to fast-track or change career direction.

Our higher education qualifications are available to all students and are listed below.

Higher National Certificate (HNC) – usually a two-year part-time course, popular with employed students who attend College for one day or two evenings a week.

Higher National Diploma (HND) – usually a two-year full-time course, popular with school/college leavers who have completed a National Diploma, A-Levels or other equivalent qualifications.

Foundation degrees are vocational qualifications designed with the help of employers and they focus on technical/practical and academic skills.

Work-based learning is an essential part and the length of your course depends on the amount of work-based learning you undertake outside of the college. Some courses can be studied over two years with college attendance just one day a week; others require full-time attendance with managed work placements.

As employers are involved in the design and review of courses, Foundation degree graduates are highly employable.

Diploma of Higher Education (DipHE) is equivalent to the first two years of an Honours degree and is ideal for someone who wishes to study initially in a college environment and then progress onto the final year of a degree at a university.

Honours degrees are usually three year full-time courses with the possibility of including a work placement ‘sandwich’ year.

Warwickshire College offers a range of Honours degrees in vocational subject areas, which you can find on pages 8-23.
