The start of a new school year is often the beginning of many new additions to one’s life: new classmates, new teachers, new carpool, and often a new school.

We are welcoming many new families to CAK this year. We believe that each family is sent by God to bless and be blessed.

In order to welcome our new families properly, we would like to invite all brand new CAK students and host families to the 2010 New Family Wel-come Dinner!

This is a fun family outing. Get to know some of the other CAK families

whose children are in the same grade as your students. Enjoy a casual, tasty, kid-friendly meal and then head out to cheer for the Warriors in their first home football game of the season!

Please RSVP for your family (include your name and the number of people who will be attending) by August 16. You may RSVP by contacting Karen Tucker in the CAK office at (865) 690-4721, ext. 143, or at [email protected]. Or follow the link above to the online RSVP form.

We look forward to meeting you and officially welcoming you to the CAK family!

Getting to Know Your 2010 Warrior Booster ClubThe athletic boosters at Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) are referred to as the Warrior Booster Club (WBC). The WBC provides support for the athletes and the sanctioned athletic programs of the CAK Athletic Department. The goal of the club is to ensure that student-athletes reach their highest potential spiritually, academically, and athletically. The WBC Board is made up of parents of CAK students, nominated and selected to represent a broad cross-section of the athletic programs and sports of-fered by the school. The Club operates in collaboration with the Athletic Director and is under the authority of the CAK Board of Directors. The 2010 WBC consists of a variety of members who direct their energies to a specific area of involvement within the CAK athletic program.

that students can all be seated together. (If students cannot attend for some reason, please call to schedule a separate time to get the neces-sary information.) All meetings will take place in the HS Commons.

New Family Orientation Sessions: • If you weren’t able to attend the first New Family Orientation on Aug. 4, plan to attend on Tuesday, Sept. 14. This session will last about one hour, and we recommend that both parents attend to learn more about the mission and vision of the school. CAK Golf Tournament Needs Your Support Golfers, get your clubs out and work on your swing because the Warrior ShootOut is just around the corner. The tournament, considered to be one of the best of its kind in East Tennessee, promises to be better than ever in 2010. Scheduled for Friday, September 17 at Rarity Pointe, golfers choose to play the morning round, afternoon round, or both!

Now in its 23nd year, the Warrior ShootOut plays an integral part in the fundraising efforts at CAK. The proceeds from this event go to several areas of school life, including tuition assistance

and the purchase of educational materials and equipment. In addition to the financial benefits CAK receives from this annual tournament, the school also gains positive exposure in the Knoxville community by hosting a friendly, enjoyable experience for participants, volunteers, and sponsors.

We need your smiling faces on the green! Volunteers are needed to work morning and/or afternoon shifts at the tournament. Volunteer activities include: “manning” the holes, preparing refreshments, helping with golfer registration, and distributing goody bags.
