What’s a Wounded Warrior?

• Wounded Warrior Project: Served on Active Duty on/after September 11, 2001 and was Honorably Discharged with a Veterans Affairs disability rating of xx% or higher.

• Warrior Hunts: The WWP definition, PLUS one of the three following: Purple Heart recipient, Combat Veteran or Special Operator

Warrior Hunts’ version of, “Thank you for your Service”

• Nature and the presence of other Warriors are the two combining forces here….the hunting/fishing and Outdoorsman experience is actually a by-product of just getting these Heroes out of the house. Cost Free and Stress Free, hosting Families versus individuals works, no matter the venue. (hunting/fishing/camping/riding/etc)

Cost Comparison

Research the cost of a whitetail deer hunt via Google/Bing/etc….Warrior Hunts did that multiple times in 2015…with 105 Warriors and Families.• In 24hrs, W-H harvested 26 deer in ‘13 and 21 deer in

‘14…and across three days, FORTY deer in December ‘15.

• Parent/Child Firsts: 23+• 300+ hosted in 4 years • Donated harvest meat to Hunters for the Hungry• $500 per Warrior average cost

2016 Schedule• Fishing Tournament in April with Corps of Engineers in

Arkansas; Goal is 8 Warrior Families in attendance. (lodging funds are LIMFAC)

• The Memorial at Frenchman’s Bend in May (only fundraiser)• Hog Hunts, depending on funding; March 1 until Deer

Season; two sites ready/both Antler Sheds in use• Dove Hunt in September; Bow Season opener in October;

Doepocalypse and Pheasant Hunt in November; Deerpocalyspe in December; Squirrel-A-Palooza January ’17

Goals

• #1 Goal: more Warriors and Families involved• #2 Goal--Funded at $500 per Warrior and needed

equipment acquired/sponsored.• #3 Goal--Vehicle Projects Sponsored. (Heep-2-Jeep,

WH 4Runner and rebuild of Chevy ¾ ton Truck) • Budget met by August. (70 Warrior Families equals

$35,000…not including supplies/equipment)
