Foreword

Hey AIESEC! What’s up? The WARRED (World Leader Contribution for Education)

mini project comes at an important time for the basic education sector in Indonesia.

The impact we want to achieve on this project is to create the global leaders who are

also aware in sharing positive impacts to the kids as the future leaders. The project

was managed and delivered by all of the wonderful teamwork consisting of the

AIESEC UI, Organizing Committees, the amazing EPs and also the volunteers–

which we called as WARRED Formula! We commend this Project Report to you as an

evaluation and we are looking forward to make this project be much better and

reach the glory in the future :)

Overview Project ActivitiesOpening Event

The Ceremonial event which marks the opening of the whole event of WARRED. The objective of

this event is to set the expectations of all participants of this whole event including parents,

partners, AIESEC members and other stakeholders.

Pre-Conference Trip

Pre-confence Trip is specially held as a chance for all EP and OC of WARRED project to get to

know each other. During this trip, EPs will not only learn more about the awesome project, but

also create a friendship bond with their fellow teammates.

Brainstorming & Troubleshooting

Brainstroming and Troubleshooting are the weekly meeting held for the EPs and the OCs to talk

about the ideas and problems they have and face during the project. Brainstorming is being held

every Monday and designated for the EPs to talk about their ideas in groups for the teaching

event. Troubleshooting is being held every Thursday and designated for the EPs to talk about

the problems they faced during the teaching event with the OCs then try to find the solution to

solve the problems.

Teaching Event

Teaching Event consists of 4 diferrent classes for each week, which are English Class, Music

Class, Art Class and Special Class. There are 100 kids whom divided into 5 groups and 5

teaching places to be taught by the EPs.

Workshop

A fun, creative, and unique workshop for children. The children are being taught by the EPs on

how to make handicrafts that will be sold during the Fundraising.

Fundraising

This activity aims to collect some fund from selling handicrafts or any other activities in order

to be able to give some kind of souvenirs for the kids.

Sports Day

A sports event for the kids and EPs to have fun together outside the class.

City Tour

A city tour to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah for the kids and the EPs.

Cultural Day

An event for the EPs to present their countries and the cultures to the kids.

Closing Event

The Ceremonial event which marks the closing of the whole event of WARRED. The event

consists of the EPs performance, the kids performance and sharing session.

Opening EventLapangan Bonang, Cikini - Jakarta | July 6th 2011

The events started with a warm welcome and speech from

WARRED OCP, Mardhatilla Amalia, and then followed by the

introduction of thw EPs. As for the EPs which came to the

opening, are not only for WARRED project, but also the EPs for

the NSN Project. When they introduced themselves, children

who attended the opening of this project applauded noisily and

very pleased with their presence.

After!EPs!finished!introducing

themselves, the event!continued

with!speeches!from Bang Zaki as

the!community!coordinator!of the

Proclamation,!and the speech!from

the!chairman of!the local!RT. The

next!event!was!a!game!for!the!EPS!and the children!of

the community!proclamation.!In this game, each

EP!will!give!a question!to the

children,!and!then!choose someone!who!can

answer!that question. Children who managed to answer!will!get a small!plant!as a

reward. This!event!aims!to!familiarize themselves!with the!EPs!of the!children.

This!event!took place with quite lively with laughter and!boisterous!applause.

Pre-Conference TripPramuka Island, Kepulauan Seribu | July 9th - 10th 2011

Participants!who attended!were the!EPS,

both!WARRED!EPs!and!EPs!from!other

projects,!the!OCS!and!AIESECers.!Trip!to the Pramuka

Island itself takes three hours.!When we got!there,!the

participants took a break!and!eat!lunch. The Event

started!at!13.30!pm.!Local!guides!took!participants!to the

snorkeling place.

In the night,!at 10 pm, barbecue and WARRED introduction

event began. WARRED introduction event began with and

introduction of the OCs and continued with an

introduction!of the WARRED Project to the EPs.!In this session, each!OCs described!a series

of events!that exist!in the project!as well as!question and answer session!if there are things

that are!not understood by the!EPs.!After that, each!EP!gave!hopes and!expectations to

WARRED project so it could be run !better.

Brainstorming & TroubleshootingAIESEC LC UI Office, Depok | Every Monday & Thursday

Brainstorming

Brainstorming is a meeting between the OCs and

the EPs which held every Monday every week.

This meeting is designated to talk about the ideas

of what the EPs will teach the kids on that week.

In this meeting, the EPs divided into small groups

and then talk and brainstorm the ideas of teaching

the kids. After the brainstorming, usually the EPs

then buy the teaching materials that will be used

during the week.

Troubleshooting

Troubleshooting is a meeting between the

OCs and the EPs which held every Thursday

every week. This meeting is designated to

talk about the problems that the EPs faced

during the teaching event. After talking

about the problems, then the EPs and the

OCs will discuss about how to solve the

problems.

Teaching EventCikini - Jakarta | Every Tuesday & Wednesday

Teaching Event is the main Learning Event of WARRED Project. Each week, the EPs

delivered different kind of classes to 100 kids. The classes are English Class, Music

Class, Art Class and Special Class which is a class that designated for the EPs to

teach soft skills to the children. There are 5 teaching places which each places have

approximately 20 kids and 2 or 3 EPs for each places. The EPs had the chance to

teach in every teaching places and worked with different people every week cause

the system of how to divide the group is based on taking turns. Beside EPs, each

class also have a volunteer which works as a translator.

WARRED Teaching Event on Jakarta Post

The teaching event of WARRED was published

in Jakarta Post newspaper article which

written by Tivea Koam as the foreign

contributor there. Beside the paper, it’s also

published in the website of Jakarta Post

WorkshopPos RW 06 Cikini - Jakarta | July 15th 2011

The Workshop Event is held on Friday July 15th at 2 PM till 5 PM. The

kids were divided into small groups based on what they want to make

on this workshop. The EPs taught the kids on how to make handicrafts

like dolls, paper birds, drawings, bracelets, decoration candle and also

some easy traditional handicrafts from the EPs’ country. After the

workshop done, the kids had to collect the handicrafts which will be

sold by the EPs in the Fundraising event. The purpose of the event is

actually not only for making money in the Fundraising but also aims to

transfer some creativity knowledge the kids on how to make

handicrafts or their own toys that might be useful in their future.

FundraisingAround Jakarta & Universitas Indonesia, Depok | In the Weekend

Fundraising is an event that organized independently by all of the EPs. This event is

like an autonomous project because the EPs formed their own organizing committee

for the Fundraising. The OCP for this events are Ming Ho Khouw from Netherland

and Andrada Falcoi from Romania. They were divided into groups and each group

had to raise funds in their free times by selling the handicrafts the kids made in the

Workshop and Art Class. In the last week of WARRED, the EPs gathered all the

money and discussed on how they should use the money for. In the total, The EPs

successfully gathered nearly IDR 3.000.000,00 and decided to use the money for

buying all of the kids stationery for school and also educational toys for the

community in Cikini. They gave all the gifts in the last day of Teaching Event and

the kids were so happy and excited.

Sports DayLapangan Proklamasi Cikini, Jakarta | July 29th 2011

Sports Day was held on Friday, July 29th at 2 PM until 5 PM. This

event had 6 competitions of sports such as sprint, blind eye, mini

football, etc. The aim of this event is to teach the kids to work in groups

and to help each other in team. The winner of every competition were

announced at the Closing Event. Beside sports competitions, later after

that, Billy, the EP from China, taught the kids on how to do tae-kwon-do.

The kids were very excited to learn tae-kwon-do from Billy and both of

the EPs and the kids were having so much fun.

City TourTaman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta | July 31st 2011

City Tour was held on Sunday, July 31st at 12 PM until 6 PM. This

activity designated as a ‘bonding’ event for the EPs and the kids to be

more bonded outside the classroom. The City Tour participants were

the OCs, the EPs and 20 kids from Cikini. In the City Tour, most of the

activity is sightseeing the beauty of Indonesia from Taman Mini

Indonesia Indah which made the EP so excited. In this tour, sometimes

the EPs asked the kids about what they’d seen and the kids explained to

the EPs about Indonesian culture with the helps of the OCs.

Cultural DayPos RW 06 Cikini - Jakarta | August 5th 2011

Cultural day is an event that designated for the EPs to presentate their

countries and culture and for the kids to learn about other countries

and cultures beside Indonesia. Before WARRED mini project, most of

the kids only know United States and Malaysia as the other countries

beside Indonesia. They have no idea about European continent or even

countries in Asia continent. By this event, the EPs could presentate and

explain where their countries are and what are the cultures, religions

and celebrations that happens there.

Closing CeremonyPos RW 06 Cikini - Jakarta | August 13th 2011

Speech & Performances

The closing ceremony started with the speech from

Mr. Jufri as the advisor of the Proklamasi

Community and continued by Monicca Stellanda as

the Vice President of Talent Management in AIESEC

UI and Marry Margaretha as the Project

Coordinator. After speech, the kids and volunteers

performed a short drama about the WARRED

teaching event in English. Beside the kids

performance, the EPs also performed “Waka-Waka”

dance to entertain the kids.

Impressions & Togetherness

After dancing “Waka-Waka” together, one of the kids, Ivy,

shared her impressions of the WARRED project in English on

behalf of the other kids. After Ivy, all of the EPs also shared

their impressions about the project and about the kids. The

situation became gloomy because they realized that the

closing ceremony means farewell to the EPs and to the kids.

Most of the kids cried in the end of the ceremony. They

hugged all of the EPs one by one and told the EPs their

gratitudes and gave all of the EPs farewell presents and in

the end, the Proklamasi Community gave a framed

certificate as a gratitude to the WARRED OCs.

Andrea Kammermann - Switzerland

I’m Andrea Kammermann and a student of Fribourg University in Switzerland.This summer I decided to join the WARRED Project of the internship in Indonesia. Not only because it just sounds great to do an internship in Indonesia, but more because i see this as an life exchange experience. The TN of this Project appealed to me especially, and it really fits me perfectly. I was working as an intern under WARRED, we teach children of a community in Jakarta english, arts, music and culture. The kids in here are just adorable and unforgettable, which makes this experience even more simply great. Not only the Project is amazing, but also the AIESECERs in here, which support us a lot and this very cool city, Jakarta!!! Now i'm already back home and i'm really missing my kids, the AIESECERs, the food.. just everything!!This summer i seriously had the time of my life in Indonesia!!
