Seriously, do you know the warning signs of terrorism?Even more important, do you know what you should do?

Today is your lucky day because you have found the holy grail of information.

We are going to cover some of the ways you can spot potential acts of terror, what you can do to protect yourself, and many of things that you do NOT want to miss.

We are so glad you are here today to learn this information.

Even the smallest amount of information that you can read and remember is a large step to make a difference.

You never know how this could help you one day, so let’s not keep you waiting.

To start off, we’re going to go over some important signs that may signal you to the fact that something could be going on.

There are always a bunch of other signs that maybe you didn’t even think of...but don’t you worry. We’ve got the info here for you to learn.

Suspicious people that don’t belong

While this may seem like a given, most people go through life day by day and don’t take notice of the people around them.

So this may be an easy one to spot, you have to be paying attention to notice this.

Keep watch in your neighborhood, at work, or just out in public for people that just seem to be out of place or acting suspicious.

Inquiring about information

Via a phone call, mail, email, or in person.A singular person or an organization may attempt gather information on specific people, the military, certain standard operations. If you come across this and feel like there is something funny about it, be alert.

Security

People may try to test out security systems or procedures to see how strong it is or determine how long it takes people to take action towards a breach.

Monitoring

Take notice of people watching, recording, listening, etc. They could be monitoring daily activities and taking notes on a person or company’s routines.

Supplies

Be extremely wary of people who are buying dangerous supplies or are gathering large amounts of controlled items. This could be in the form of uniforms, ammunition, weapons, items to make weapons, etc.

Practice

What does this mean?

Watch out for people wandering aimlessly in areas that they should not be. It is possible that they are practicing for something or planning out routes.

One of the easiest ways to spot something that isn’t quite right is taking notice of people checking entries that they shouldn’t be around, people placing strange bags in places and then leaving them, or even people that are wearing a large amount of clothing as though they may be hiding something.

With all of these signs, it is important to note that if you suspect or see anything like this that raises your attention, it is always best to report it.

It’s not silly if you have that gut feeling that something is wrong and it could possibly save lives.

Let’s talk about some of the places that are more likely for something to happen.

It’s just a matter of fact, high profile places are going to be larger targets, so we just want you to have the knowledge and think about it.

At Risk Locations:

Airports

Airports seem to be a huge target, especially international airports because tons of people are flying from all over every single day. It is a place that would have a large impact.

Government facilities

Military or civilian, government locations are a important places that would be a high risk.

Large cities

Not only just large cities, but important cities, like capitals, etc would be at a high-er risk than a small country town that no one has heard of.

They would want a place with a higher impact.

Important Landmarks or Monuments

Anything that is important to us as citizens has potential to tampered with.

Mail

Unfortunately, even some terrorists use the mail couriers to possibly send explo-sive or dangerous items.

Important gatherings

This one may not seem like it would be high threat, but it could be a place with a large population of people or an important event.

A political rally, we had the Boston marathon bombs, etc.

Anywhere that brings together a large population.

What are some examples of acts of terror?

Although there are SO many possible things that could occur, we’ll go over what we think are the top 3 most prominent examples

Cyber attacks

These are becoming more and more prevalent in today’s society and with all the technology that is out there.

Threats of terrorism and bomb threats

The threat of terror is one of the major scares about terrorism. The thought of what these people can or would do is terrorizing in itself.

Shootings

It seems as though you see active shooters in the news more and more. Unfortunately, this is placed in the list of the 3 three major examples.

So the questions remains…What can you do to prepare for possible terrorist acts?

The first step in this is what you are doing right now, educating yourself.

You’ve taken the leap on learning the details of this which is great, but there are still other steps you can take to further your knowledge.

You need to be aware of your surroundings.

Preparation:

1. Sit down with your friends and family and determine what possible events could happen in your neighborhood and community.

2. Once you’ve unveiled any potential threats that could possibly occur, develop a plan together for each potential threat and decide on what you would do.

3. Assign everyone a role in the plan and make sure they know and understand that role.

4. Lastly, practice your plan and memorize it.

In the scenario that something has happened, it is important to follow the protocol that you and your friends/family developed.

What do you do if you don’t have a plan?

First and foremost, try your best to remain calm.

(I know this could be difficult, but think about it. You are not going to be any help or use to anyone if you are freaking out. If you are ok and you are freaking out, then you are not helping those who really need you)

Stay Calm

Check yourself and your family for any injuries.

Shut off any damaged utilities and turn the main gas valve off and get everyone outside to regroup together.

If you’ve deemed that your location has no damage, turn on your radio, TV, etc and listen for any news or instructions by your local officials.

Depending on what has happened, mental and physical clean up for the affected area can possibly take a very long time.

Try to alert your families that you are ok and prepare yourself to work hard to move forward.

We are going to loop back for a second to something that we touched base on earlier. In the event that an act of terror occurs, there are generally two types of people.

Those who freeze and those who take action.

Now, who do you think are the ones who make a difference and help?...That’s right, those who take action.

So my point in this is that your strongest weapon in the face of danger, is your brain.

You can to mentally keep yourself strong and keep yourself going in order to save yourself and potentially save others.

As said previously, those who freeze or those who freak out, are only going to be a burden to others and they’ll be the ones that the ones who take action are helping.
