Expectations http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zSVu76AX3I

A Self-Fulfilling Prophecy:

A teacher’s expectations, either high or low expectations, become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Students perform in ways that teachers expect. Teachers’ beliefs about student potential are particularly powerful for students of color and students from poor families (Ferguson, 2002).

Think about your life 20 years from now…

You will be about 35 years old

Maybe you’ll be married…

Maybe you’ll have kids of your own…

Think about how you would want to live.

Will you be living here?

Will you be eating here?

Will you be driving this?

Will you be working here?

Will you be living here?

Will you be driving this?

Will you be working here?
