Introduction
Complete Warehouse Management
The Datapel Warehouse Management System (WMS) will dramatically elevate
the quality of your stock control procedures.
Your business benefits immediately through accurate stock tracking,
centralised sales management and order fulfilment, improved stock put-away,
and advanced item search capabilities.
With accurate stock tracking shrinkage and spoilage costs drop along with
“buffer” inventory margins, freeing up more cash as working capital for your
company.
Integration with MYOB® software
Datapel WMS is designed for companies that are currently using MYOB®
Premier and understand the need to improve stock management, order
fulfilment and increase customer satisfaction.
Integrating WMS with MYOB® Premier is easy, item sales and stock
management become a function of the WMS, while your daily accounting
processes remain the same in MYOB®. Regular “synchronisation” allows final
invoices, purchasing, and inventory item details to be shared between the
systems.
In most cases your Sales and Stock Control staff will no longer need direct
access to your MYOB® Premier accounting software.
Customisation
Because Datapel WMS is wholly Australian Owned and developed locally
we can be responsive to your special needs. If your stock control needs
are unique Datapel can develop specific enhancements or create additional
reports to support your business.

Achieve Best Practice Warehouse Management.
Improved Profitability
Reduce man-hours, stock shrinkage
and improve accuracy with best
practice business software that
streamlines existing warehouse
management processes.
Avoid Complex and Costly System Migration
Enterprise upgrades can require
massive IT investment and often
result in many unforeseen cost
blowouts. WMS provides enterprise-
level functionality and can utilise
existing IT infrastructure. Avoid loss of
productivity, extensive data conversion
and intensive re-training with software
that grows with your company.
Lower Inventory Spend
Accurate tracking, guided stock
picking and optimised usage of
warehouse space ensures your
business is running at maximum
efficiency.
Accurate, Real-time Stock Tracking
Centralised inventory database with
multi-user capability allows stock
tracking in real-time with pinpoint
accuracy. WMS provides a full history
of all stock movement.
High Stock Visibility
Comprehensive search capabilities,
including support for barcode
scanning, enables your business to
optimise order fulfilment and begin
to forecast future purchase decisions
with confidence.
Improved Communication
Scan and attach electronic documents
to orders, items or purchases. WMS is
a centralised system that allows you
to track product details from receiving
right through to shipping.
Seamless Exchange with MYOB®
WMS communicates directly with
the MYOB® database using industry
standard ODBC technology,
eliminating the need to re-key
inventory data, and maintains
consistency between accounting and
warehouse systems.

Receiving Process
Using WMS all inventory must be received before it is available for sale or
transfer. Typically receiving is completed against an MYOB Item Purchase
Order. However the WMS allows inventory to be added or removed using
stock check-in, check-outs, Transfers, or Return Authorities (RA).

How It Works
Order Fulfilment
Managing order fulfilment is the most important function of the WMS. Once
sales are created the WMS tracks subsequent order fulfilment activities
including stock picking, packing and shipping.
Pick Order
Storeperson uses WMS to ‘pick’ the order creating an Order Picking List.
Retrieve Stock
Pack Order
Ship and Invoice Order
New Sale Order
Order Fulfilment Begins
New Sales Order entered into WMS Sales Module.
Order appears in WMS as Ready to Process (RTP).
Store person retrieves stock using Order Picking Lists detailing Stock Bin Locations and Batch Serial Numbers.
Order is then Packed by storeperson who creates labels and checks order line items and quantities using optional barcode scanner.
Storeperson registers order as Shipped and accounts synchronises WMS with MYOB automatically creating item sale invoices.
Workflow Benefits
• Increase warehouse
efficiency
• Improve transparency
on Order Status
• Faster and more
accurate invoicing
• Higher customer
satisfaction

How It Works
Detailed Picking Workflow
Order picking is the process of retrieving items from within a warehouse
or storeroom for delivery to a customer. The WMS creates picking lists that
optimise stock selection, hence reducing search and retrieval time.
Pick Order(s)
Locate and Retrieve Stock
Pick Adjustments
Split Short Orders
New orders are Ready to Process (RTP) in WMS Despatch Register.
Storeperson uses the WMS Pick Engine to allocate stock to orders using LIFO, FIFO, MIN, MAX, LEXFO, FEXFO or by Manual pick methods.
Multiple order picking lists can be printed by Order Number or grouped by Item Number.
Order Pick Instructions can be updated using a manual pick to reflect actual stock retrieved.
An adjustment must be created when stock cannot be picked due to count errors or breakage.
Storeperson can split an order, pack and ship stocked goods, while creating a Back Order for Out of Stock items.
Storeperson retrieves allocated stock using Order Pick List detailing Stock Bin Locations and Batch-Serial Numbers.
Workflow Benefits
• Improve order
fulfilment accuracy
• Reduce buffer stock
requirements
• Comprehensive
warehouse audit trail
• Increase order
processing capacity

How It Works
Detailed Packing and Shipping Workflow
The WMS improves order fulfilment accuracy by requiring line items to be
checked as packed. Optionally use a barcode scanner to detect incorrect
items, missed items, and under or over supplied quantities.
Pack Order(s)
Scan Item or Batch Serial #
Scan ‘Pack’Create Labels
Pack orders that are Picked or Part Packed in WMS Despatch Register.
Begin by selecting or scanning Order Reference.
Storeperson can optionally use keyboard, mouse, barcode scanner or any combination to pack an Order.
To check an item belongs in the order, scan the item code or item serial number.
Once ALL Order Items are confirmed, scan ‘PACK’.
Order is flagged as SHIPPED and is ready for invoicing in MYOB once despatched.
An incorrectly scanned item will be flagged immediately.
Any items over or under counted will be flagged for review.
Workflow Benefits
• Increase shipped
order accuracy
• Adaptable barcode
sophistication
• Improve logistics
coordination
