    Affirmative sentences These verbs are often used as main verbs and their complement consist of the following order:

    SUBJECT + MAIN VERB + OBJECTIVE PRONOUN OR NOUN + INFINITIVE

    I WANT her or Mary TO GO.

    The word THAT is not used after the verbs WANT, ASK, ADVISE, TELL and INVITE. These verbs can be used in any tense, but the verb in the complement is always used in INFINITIVE.

    SUBJECT WANT + OBJECTIVE PRONOUN + INFINITIVE ASK OR NOUN ADVISE TELL INVITE

    The word order of the complement in interrogative sentences is the same as in affirmative sentences.

    The complement that you have learned can be only used negatively after the verbs ASK, TELL and ADVISE.

    The word order in the negative is the following:

    SUBJECT + MAIN VERB + OBJECT PRONOUN + NOT + INFINITIVE OR NAME

    Susan TOLD Tom or him NOT TO COPY.

    With the verbs WANT and INVITE we use the usual form of the negative.

    Examples: She DOESNT WANT Sally TO CLOSE the door. Tom WONT INVITE them TO DANCE with him.
