    Sandpaper for flattening the table and making the

    facing curve. Use on the granite plate below.

    180 and 220 for fast cutting. 320 and 400 are for

    general use. 600 and 1000 are for final smooth

    finishes. 400 is the most useful of all grits and

    can be used for most work, as it cuts well and

    leaves an adequate final finish. Can be purchased

    3/8 Glass or Granite Surface Plate

    12 x 9 x 1 thick A 3/8 thick piece of glass may also be used, as it

    is lighter and more portable. A 5 x 10 piece of

    glass can be purchased at www.musicmedic.com

    8 by 11 is ideal as it fits the sandpaper

    perfectly. Note: Never use glass thinner than

    3/8 as it bends.

    Granite Plate is the very best as it is very stable,

    however, this is for shop use only as it is not

    portable. www.shars.com has affordable

    versions.

    Any Motor and narrow handpiece with quick change lever for use 3/32" (2.4 mm) shanks

    arbors. Buy from dental tool supply shops. Standard electric rotary handpieces

    work fine too, as long as they take 3/32 shank tools.

    Any 3/32 shank with 1/16 arbor hole Nickel Plated Steel

    Miniature Muslin Buff

    Any Use to fine polish the baffles on mouthpieces. 16 Ply with two rows of stitching. 1

    Diameter. Fits abrasive wheel arbor.

    Buffing Compound (Rouge)

    Any Deep Red Rouge for a shiny final color on any material

    Brown Tripoli for fast polishing

    Black For hard rubber and plastic mouthpieces

    White Diamond For Brass and Copper mouthpieces

    Green for use on chrome and stainless steel (Berg Larsen, etc.)

    Ball Head Burs

    Fox Ball Head Burs with 3/32 shank. I recommend Fox brand, as they fit most hand-

    pieces well. Use to round out the inner side-walls and make the chamber bigger.
