April 29, 2018
Acts 9:26-31; 1 John 3:18-24; John 15:1-8
GOOD WINE
Vines and wines and vineyards, the rituals of tasting, and the good
wine were shared by Jesus at Cana’s wedding. Jesus is our vine and
we his branches. The fruit we produce is the life of the Holy Spirit
in us. “We know he lives in us by the Spirit he has given us.” Taste
and see how good the Lord is. Jesus himself gives the best wine of
divine life to those who ask. Come to the wedding feast of God!

their team to bring Holy Communion to the
homebound of St. Anne Parish. If you think you
would be interested in participating in this ministry or
would like more information, please call Carolyn
(937-4862) or Trudy (675-8126) for more information.
We are also looking to add additional Money

consists for 3-4 members. counts once every four

All is well with our journey toward Steubenville on
the Bayou Catholic Youth Conference held June 15-
17!! The students have been working hard along the
way from leading The Way of the Cross during the
Lenten season to currently wrapping up the successful
Steubenville Sponsorship Board. On behalf of the
youth, we would like to say, “THANK YOU” to all
parishioners, organizations and business owners who
donated to the youth by sponsoring the Steubenville
trip. Your generosity is tremendously appreciated
making the Steubenville Sponsorship Board a HUGE
success! As we continue on this glorious journey
toward Steubenville on the Bayou, please continue to
pray for all St Anne/St Anthony participants.
Thank you!
This summer, St Anne/St
Anthony will be joining forces
with Holy Rosary’s Vacation Bible
School which will be held July
16-20 at Holy Rosary in St.
Amant, 9:00am-12:15pm each
day. All children entering kindergarten-6th grade are
invited, but space is limited so register
early! Registration begins Tuesday, April 3rd online only at holyrcc.weshareonline.org.
As part of the Shipwrecked VBS experience, all
participating families are encouraged to make a
treasure chest which will be used as part of the
decorations. Be creative - you can use whatever
materials you would like. Treasure chests should be
between 12-24 inches in length and 10-18 inches in
height. These can be dropped off at the St. Anne
parish office no later than July 12. A prize will be
awarded during VBS for the best treasure chest! If you
have any questions regarding VBS or
the treasure chest, please contact Anne
Miller at the parish office.
MISSIONARY SOCIETY OF ST. PAUL
Our church is missionary by nature. Each of us as
baptized Catholics are called to share in the work of
evangelization. On the weekend of May 5 & 6, Fr.
Aloysius Nzekwe, MSP will be speaking to us from the
Missionary Society of St Paul. There will be a second
collection to support them in their work.
The Missionary Society of St. Paul (MSP) is a
congregation of priests founded in Nigeria in 1977.
The Society now has 260 priests. They are working in
ten countries of Africa, (South Africa, Malawi,
Botswana, Cameroon, Liberia, Chad, The Gambia,
Nigeria, Kenya and Southern Sudan), Grenada in the
West Indies, the United States, England, Sweden and
Ireland. They also have about 110 seminarians in their
seminary in Nigeria.
Their mission in Malawi provides rehabilitation and
support for over 300 orphans who lost their parents
due to AIDS. They need our financial assistance to
continue this mission. They also need funds to: 1)
provide fresh water wells, and education in rural
communities of Chad, Malawi, South Sudan and
Nigeria; 2) Sponsoring seminarians, our future priests;
3) Supporting priests in the founding/building of new
churches. Your support to this worthy cause will be an
immense encouragement to the Missionary Society of
St. Paul to as they continue to take the good news to
those desperately in need of it. May God bless you!
Please remember Catherine L. Ordoyne,
