The Primary PE and Sport Premium
The Primary PE and Sport Premium must be used to fund additional and sustainable improvements to the provision of PE and sport, for the benefit of primary-aged pupils, to encourage the development of healthy, active lifestyles.
Vision:All pupils leaving primary school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle and lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
Objective: To achieve self-sustaining improvement in the quality of PE and sport in primary schools.
Indicators of such improvement should include:• The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity – kick-starting
healthy active lifestyles• The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for
whole school improvement• Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE
and sport• Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all
pupils• Increased participation in competitive sport
As an affiliated school, we will work together to:• offer a wide range of opportunities in PE, Sport and Physical Activity• ensure more young people benefit from PE, Sport and Physical

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
Active Storytelling Workshop April 2018
Summary:This workshop was aimed at Reception and Key Stage 1 staff and provided ideas of activities and approaches that staff can take to increase physical activity levels and engage pupils in their learning through active storytelling.
Delegate Rating/ Feedback: Excellent
Impact:Through attending the workshop you :• Understand the role movement plays in whole child development• Are equipped to create active story telling opportunities• Can identify books and reading materials that enable active story telling• Can support the National Curriculum for English through physical activity
PHYSICAL EDUCATION

Summary:Modules have been delivered throughout the year to train Newly Qualified Teachers and those with little or no experience of delivering PE.
Impact:• Teachers have a greater understanding of National Curriculum PE
Programme of Study• Teachers have improved knowledge, skills and confidence to deliver high
quality PE • Teachers have a greater understanding of Assessing PE utilising a ‘hands,
head, heart’ approach• Teachers are able to differentiate in PE • Pupils are engaged in their PE lessons and making progress

Breakfast Briefing May 2018
Summary:Schools were provided with an update regarding the Primary PE & Sport Premium Funding. In addition, the SSP shared information about the opportunities for 2018-19 in PE, School Sport and Physical Activity for Derby City schools. Delegates were encouraged to network with schools and organisations throughout the session.

School Games Mark
All schools must complete the following before applying for any of the school games
marks:

• Registered a School Games Day date on your dashboard
Curriculum:
Bronze: Plans for two hours of Physical Education and School Sport per week.
Silver: Provide pupils with two hours of Physical Education and School Sport per week.
Gold: Provide all students with two hours of Physical Education with additional extra-
curricular clubs.
Extra-curricular:
Bronze: Engage 20% of KS2 pupils in extra-curricular sporting activity every week.
Silver: Engage 35% of KS2 pupils in extra-curricular sporting activity every week.
Gold: Engage 50% of KS2 pupils in extra-curricular sporting activity every week.

Silver: Have active links with at least three local community and pathways
sport/physical activity and leisure providers.
