Background

Bondage • The Hebrew bondage is a METAPHOR. Egypt is the world. The bondage of the Hebrews parallels a non-believer’s bondage to sin.

Deliverance •Like Moses was chosen and prepared as the deliverer from bondage in Egypt, God prepared a deliverer for those trapped in bondage to sin. His name was JESUS.

Blue print for living •The law is given to provide a standard for RIGHTEOUSNESS…so one can know right from wrong. The law also revealed God’s divine HOLINESS

Blue print for living • God’s blueprint for living is summarized: LOVE God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and LOVE your neighbor as yourself.
