T he 2005 Puget Sound Heart Walk is a huge success! Under the leadership of Bill Lewis, Heart Walk Chair, and Michael Longo, MD, Heart Walk Medical Chair, the Puget Sound Heart Walk has raised over $2 million! This made the Puget Sound Heart Walk not only the largest walk in the state, but quite possibly the largest Heart Walk in the nation! More than 10,000 walkers participated in this incredible event at Qwest Field to show their support for the fight against heart disease and stroke. Washington Mutual remained one of the top fundraising companies in the country, raising more than $335,000. Medtronic Emergency Response Systems and Horizon House/Lease Crutcher Lewis both broke the $100,000 mark, and five additional companies each raised over $50,000. The dedication of all Heart Walk companies, teams, and walkers made the 2005 Puget Sound Heart Walk an overwhelming success! We offer a heartfelt thanks to our walkers, team captains, company leaders, sponsors, volunteers, committees, and vendors. 2005 Puget Sound Heart Walk Surpasses $2 Million Mark January 2006 Walk Talk Newsletter of the 2005 Puget Sound Heart Walk Honeywell is the official Walk Talk Newsletter sponsor Thank You To Our Volunteers Leadership Committee Corporate Chair: Bill Lewis Medical Chair: Michael Longo, MD Immediate Past Chair: Craig Tall Committee Members Ken Alterman Joel Benoliel Ken Bounds Artie Buerk Debra Chrapaty Tom Cleveland Darlene Corkrum Russell Crawford Bruce Flynn Robert Hellrigel Gary Kaplan, MD Chris Kosmos Marcel Loh Mary McWilliams Michele Rosen Ron Sims Bruce Tall Steve Welch Don Welsh Bob White George Williams Jane Zalutsky Logistics Committee Chair: Erin Podany Committee Members June Bartell Justin Born Tom Byrne Caroline Hauge Robin Hendricks Diana Szalay Sandy Walsh Kelli Warner VIP Committee Chair: Darlene Hermes Committee Members John Applegate Louise Bartol Cynthia Ruppenthal
