• You have an existing established garden, it has pockets of beauty, however is uncontrolled and together you feel it requires a scheme that will make it inviting and better utilised by yourselves, the children and guests.•You have an existing pool and garden concept. The existing design has presented you with budget problems, and while you are not unhappy with it you are not inspired by it. •The garden has a ‘crammed’ or ‘overlapping’ feel at the moment. However your garden is not small, this design process will take advantage of the existing situation to create an open yet intimate space.•You share your home with your two children aged six and eleven. The kids use the backyard occasionally, there is a real opportunity through the design to draw them out-side to make use of the space.•You would like to entertain and dine outdoors more often, we discussed the possibility of moving the outdoor dining location and will carefully consider this within the context of your space.•A pool will be included in this design process, its location, shape and style will obviously be influential to the garden layout. We will locate it where we feel it will work best within the overall concept plan. •The existing ‘blurred’ boundaries and undefined edges create a feeling you would like to hold onto. •The filtered light the living room receives through the existing palm is a quality you like.•Currently your front garden is home to edible planting. The possibility of an area of edible planting along the eastern boundary was discussed.•The eastern boundary is also able to be utilised as the clothesline space.•The new design should provide you with a low maintenance, irrigated garden.•You have two underground retention pits adjacent the clothesline. These can be moved to suit the design.•Moving the side gate further towards the front of the property is an option.•Working with the existing planting palette will be the most cost efficient and sustainable design approach. •We discussed your budget and will design towards this in order to see your garden built. •You will consider the idea of implementing the design over time in budgeted stages.•This back and side garden re-development needs to have a sense of longevity. Therefore the decisions made now will have a long term foresight.
