THE CLUB
It gives me great pleasure to write my first programme notes this season and I am pleased to welcome you all to our Club Day.
It’s no secret that as a Club we have challenges ahead and as I have previously written this is a season for consolidating and learning whilst we start a rebuilding process. This process will not happen overnight and will have to be slow and steady, taking one small step at a time. Despite these many challenges the attitude around the club has been extremely positive and in the main the feedback is good, however I can assure you all that nobody is getting carried away and we are well aware that further improvement is required in all areas.
It’s a challenge that the Board and the Operations team are fully committed to, and we are excited to be a part of the Club at this time. My involvement may only go back a few years, but in those few years I’ve grown extremely fond of the Club and my decision to come on to the Board in the first place was based on my genuine belief that we – together – can make this a special club for everyone to enjoy.
The obvious question – and the one I’ve been asked more than any other – is “How?” and my answer goes back to my previous comment that progress won’t come overnight and there’s no magic wand. But by building the right team of people at the core of the club, and with a clear strategy to work towards, we’ll be able to make improvements in all areas.
All we ask from you is for your patience, and for your trust, as we work together towards making the right changes for the good of the club. The journey involves all of us and whilst we can’t please all the people all the time, I hope we can create a club everyone (Players, Coaches, Parents and the Community) can be proud of.
Thank you and I hope that all of you enjoy todays festivities as much as I will, seeing almost all of our teams playing at one venue.

What a great day for football, all we need is some green grass and a ball. (Bill Shankly –Liverpool Legend)
Everytime I step on to the pitch all of my troubles go away. The only thing that matters on the field is the beautiful game! (Unknown)

Coaches CommentsIn our group we focus on performances, as a collective and as an individual. Our focus and mentality on performing to a high standard means that the result is taken care of. This is something as a group we are striving towards every week, and a mother week brings another opportunity for the girls to show case their strengths on the pitch. The past two weeks the weeks the girls have put in two strong performances against the two clubs that have been at the summit of women's football in Christchurch the past few years. The girls have continued to adapt well to a new playing system, and have now matched physicality with their technical prowess. This week against Halswell will be a tough battle for our girls, and we know that if we continue our run from the last two weeks, focus on our individual strengths and attributes we will be able to bring all the pieces together and put together another strong performance on the pitch. This week we will need to ensure we are focused for the full half of the match, as the past two matches we have lost a small portion of concentration and conceded on the 45th minute and bring the final cutting edge in front of goal.

Coaches Comments
This week we welcome Western to Kendall Park. A big welcome to John his coaching staff and players and we hope to see an entertaining game. After beating Western first time around in the pre season final, our first encounter in the league saw Western put us to the sword with a 4-0 win.We know Western will come with a physical approach along with some very technical players which makes them a very versatile and strong team.We are coming off a bad run since the Western game without a win in 4 league games in which all were very close, the team and staff know overall we are playing well but we just need the results to start reflecting this. Good luck to our reserve team who play away to Halswell and are looking very promising in the reserve league currently sat in 3rd only a win or 2 off 1st place.Hopefully with this Saturday being our club day we will have good support from the Waimak faithful and everyone will get to watch a good game of footy and see the Waimak boys take the 3 points. Thank you to everyone behind the scenes who do a lot of hard work and also all our club sponsors
Thanks Adam.
