Introduction
The following is a compilation of records pertaining to the family known as
Wabikwans/Wabicons/Wapikons/Wapikontz/Wapiwas/etceteras. It appears they were
also later known as Fisher.
From Catholic Church Records of Oka, 1843:
29 August 1843, after the publication of one bann at the solemn mass of this mission
and the dispensation of the other two as well as the impediment of the third or fourth
degree of consanguinity, marriage of Michel Wabikwans of this mission, adult son of
Louis Pensan and Angélique Minondakokwe who give their consent, and Catherine Ik-
wewic or Anantchiadjiwanokwe, minor daughter of Ignace Inini who gives his consent
and Susanne Kijiadjiwanokwe, Algonquins. Present: Amable Weonting and Amable
Pakwakona.

of Pontiac, Province of Quebec, 1859-1876:
Michael Wabiguans - St. Alphonse Allumette Island the 30 Oct 1864, we the under-
signed priest of this mission have interred in the cemetery of this parish the body of Mi-
chel Wabiguans, husband of Catherine, who died the 25th at the age of 40 years (Note
by Randy - born circa 1824). Were present J. B. Perrault and Xavier Dolbec who de-
