Blakelands Country House & the Morgan Family have been hosting Weddings & Wedding Receptions since 1992.

Blakelands itself, dates from the late Tudor period, with the current House constructed in 1722.

Conversion of the Original farm buildings to offer banqueting facilities has resulted in the delightful Stable Bedrooms, which together with the Lodge rooms provide 15 ensuite guest

rooms, & the Magnificent Victorian Maltings Barn, highlighted by its tall king beam construction, now festooned by sparkling fairy lights & lit by wrought iron chandeliers.

The Main House, Formal Gardens, & our Victorian Barn are all licensed for Civil Ceremonies, & together with the paddocks, orchards & lakes provide a delightful setting for your Wedding day.

Our Barn is ultimately flexible, and can cater for 10 to 120 for a seated guests, or upto 200 for a

buffet & evening reception.

And as for your Wedding Breakfast, we pride ourselves on the level of catering we provide, with all our catering staff employed by us, serving

consistently high quality food year on year. Something we emphasise with an invitation for meal in our restaurant free of charge.

1. Exclusivity Fee. (details are on page 6)

This is our hire fee to host your wedding day, it includes the use of Blakelands House, Gardens & Grounds for your guests to relax & for photography. Included within this is also the total privacy of Blakelands House and the Corbett Bridal Suite as well as the further two principal house rooms, The Oak Room & Cottage Room.

2. Reception Drinks Package (these charges are listed on page 7) Served on arrival from Church or following your Civil Ceremony, a brief respite before photography, giving your guests and yourselves an opportunity to relax & celebrate the Marriage. A choice of two drinks may be selected, soft drinks will also be provided for non drinkers & children.

3. The Wedding Breakfast (details of your meal options are on pages 8 to 11) Put together by our management team including Blakelands Owners & Head Chef Richard, our Wedding Breakfasts uniquely offer you & your guests a choice of 2 starters, followed by your choice of main course, and your meal is completed with a choice of 4 desserts. Pricing is done only by the main course giving you again an unhindered choice of what starters & desserts you wish to offer your guests.

4. The Wine Package (details are on page 12) Our Banqueting wine list allows you to choose the two wines served to accompany your meal. Priced by service rather than by individual bottle, our six options allow you the ultimate choice. We will also hold a 2 annual Open Days at which you may taste all the wines on offer.

5. The Evening Supper (these details can be found on page 13 & 14) With both hot and cold buffets & suppers on offer, ranging from a lighter Cheese & Pate Supper, Traditional Cold Buffets through to hot options such as the BBQ buffet of Hot Pork, offering a wide choice for all tastes.

These five costs, together, will form the majority of our charges to you.

We can also offer details & contact numbers for suppliers you may need such as Wedding Cakes, Photographers, Chair Dressers, Entertainers, Disco’s & Bands.

exception of our Inclusive packages.

**All bookings must be accompanied by a minimum of one food service – either a main meal or buffet.

Civil Ceremony Blakelands is available for hire for a 3 hour period on selected dates, with an hour prior to the ceremony & complimentary use of the Corbett suite to prepare, this package also allows time for celebratory drinks & photography before departing. £750.00

January, March & April** To host your wedding day at Blakelands, on any day including Saturdays, £2350.00

May 1st to September 30th** To host your wedding day at Blakelands, on a Weekday or Sunday. £2840.00 To host your wedding day at Blakelands, on a Friday. £3150.00

There are no minimum numbers required for week days, Friday or Sunday Receptions.

October** To host your wedding day at Blakelands, any day during October £2900.00

November** To host your wedding day at Blakelands, during November £2350.00

December** Christmas is always a special time, with the Tree dressed & fires lit, it is a magical time of year to get married. Weddings are held on any day up to the 23rd December. Saturdays - £3000.00

Any other day - £2640.00

Saturdays - May 1st to September 30th Saturday Receptions with 70 daytime adult guests & above £3550.00

Saturday Receptions with between 50 - 69 daytime adult guests £3750.00 Saturday Receptions below 50 daytime adult guests £4000.00 Charges for Saturday Receptions are based on having minimum numbers of Adult Guests as shown above & the addition of: the serving of a Reception Drink, Main Meal, Wine Package & Evening Buffet as detailed on the proceeding pages. To waive the Saturday Evening Buffet, an additional charge of £500.00 will apply to

the above charges. Please be aware we do not allow outside caterers, all catering must be provided by ourselves.

These are available for your guests for an overnight stay. Rooms will, as a courtesy, be reserved for you until we see you eight weeks prior to your reception, when confirmation will be required, rooms not required by the wedding party at this point will be released for general booking.

It was Edward Corbett, who in 1722 added the north wing including this suite, for his new bride Mary, and Blakelands Queen Anne Facade. The Bridal Suite features an 18th Century Hepplewhite Design Four Poster Bed,

a lounge area, dressing room and splendid "Art Nouveau" bathroom with separate shower cubicle and large bath. The Oak Room, features Oak panelled walls & king sized four poster bed, & the Cottage Room all in the Main House.

These three principal rooms including your choice of breakfast are included in your Wedding Package.

Five further rooms in the Stable Building, off the main Courtyard, and the remaining seven are in Blakelands Lodge, which can be found across the gardens adjacent to the main house.

Breakfasts are served from 8.30am till 9.30am, served in the Lodge Restaurant.

Rooms are available for checking in from 1.00pm and vacating by 10.30am the following day.

Family Rooms The Tartan Room (Stables) & The Bolland Room (Lodge) can accommodate children or extra guests, both rooms sleep upto four guests. Additional charges apply, for extra towels, linen and breakfasts. Please add £10 per child or £20 per adult to the normal room charges. Babies under 18 months are not charged for.

We regret that due to Fire & Safety Regulations no other rooms are suitable for additional guests, children or babies, and all other rooms are restricted to a maximum occupancy of two. No other rooms are suitable for Travel cots.

We would advise you, that where possible, to arrange for your marriage ceremony to be performed around 12.00 to 12.30 at Church to allow ample time for your reception.

If you are considering a Church Wedding, our local church, Holy Cross, in Bobbington would love to hear from you. Originally dating from the 12th century, our church offers an intimate venue for couples to make their marriage vows. You can contact the Rev. Civil Wedding Ceremonies Ceremonies may take place in Blakelands House Central Hall, in our Victorian Barn, or, weather permitting, outdoors, in the Bandstand, providing you with the opportunity of making your wedding vows in this delightful rural setting. Our Suggestion would be to arrange a time of around 2.00 to 2.30pm for a civil ceremony to allow time for your reception. We regret, we are unable to host Civil Ceremonies before 1.00pm on Saturdays & Sundays & on Sundays the Lodge Bar will be available to guests from 1.30pm. Should you wish to use Blakelands for just your Civil Wedding Ceremony alone without a following meal or reception party, the House and Gardens can be hired for a three hour period, giving time for your ceremony, celebration drinks and photography, Drinks charges are as detailed in this package, Availability may be restricted at various times of the year. Extra guidance notes for Civil Ceremonies are at the rear of this package - It does however remain YOUR responsibility to book the Registrars for your ceremony. Preparing For Your Day Our charges are for the use of Blakelands House & Gardens throughout your day. We also provide exclusive table menus & table numbers. Draft seating plans are available to assist with your planning. Tables will be fully laid & dressed with dark table skirts to complement the room, your choice of white or ivory table cloths and Damask napkins in your choice of colour, we will provide our cake knife & a choice of two antique silver cake stands. If you are considering dressing the room with Chair covers, Alternative colour table skirts in Ivory or White are available to match at a cost of £140.00.

We also ask that you arrange to deliver all necessary items, such as place settings, favours, room decorations etc, to set up your wedding on the afternoon prior to your day. We will arrange a convenient time with you.

Please be aware that whilst only One Wedding Reception will be held each day, giving you complete privacy, the Lodge Restaurant will be open to the public weekday & Saturday Evenings & for Sunday Lunch. In addition the Lake will be open to anglers, & guest rooms not required by the wedding party will be made available to the general public.

For a Church Service, once all of your guests have arrived at Blakelands, we ask that the group photograph is taken first, after which reception drinks and accompaniments are served. Your guests are then free to move about the House and Gardens whilst other photographs are taken and the Lodge bar will be open for further drinks in the gardens, during which time we must ask that all children remain under strict parental supervision.

Our Victorian high beamed Barn is available for gatherings of upto 120 seated guests and upto 200 guests for an evening reception. Guests are seated on tables of upto 12, for which we will provide example table plans to assist you. This room has a private bar, adjoining Oasthouse Buffet Room, a large sprung maple dance floor, cloakroom & easy access toilet. For smaller gatherings, curtains can divide the room to provide a more intimate atmosphere, and for the evening you may arrange your own entertainment, alternatively we can provide a house DJ. For Evening receptions, please be aware that the bar closes at Midnight.

Booking Your Reception You may initially reserve any date for two weeks while you consider your reception choices, upon doing so, we will provide you with an invitation for a *free meal for two to sample our cuisine & also offer you the opportunity to discuss your food options with our managers. There is no obligation attached to this, the reserved date will simply be released should you not wish to proceed.

*A free meal for two, on a Wednesday or Thursday evening, excluding beverages, all you have to do is simply reserve a provisional wedding date with us to receive your voucher.

A Reservation Fee of £600.00 will be required together with a completed booking form to confirm your date. We ask that final numbers are confirmed two weeks before your wedding & the final balance will then be due for payment.

Guidance on VAT Charges Vat is included in all our prices, at the rate of 20%. Any increases announced by the Treasury will be passed on & applied to your wedding account.

Blakelands Gift Vouchers Gift Vouchers can be purchased for any value in denominations of £5, £10 & £20 and can be redeemed against any purchases at Blakelands, including as part payments for Wedding receptions. The vouchers can make ideal presents to you when purchased by parents, friends or family.

Visitor Safety We ask that, all guests are made aware, that whilst they have complete freedom to move around our gardens & grounds, that they take care & use caution. The gardens are in keeping with the Country House setting and as such there are natural hazards that would occur in any garden that guests should be aware of. The gardens & grounds have some uneven paths, steps, slopes and areas of unrestricted open water. Children, must at all times be kept under strict parental/adult supervision. No liability can be accepted for accidents involving minors occurring due to lack of sufficient parental/adult supervision.

Visiting Blakelands & Making Appointments Our office is manned every day and we welcome your enquiry about any of the services Blakelands has to offer, however Blakelands is still a private home and as such prior to any viewing please telephone and make an appointment to ensure we are available to discuss your requirements, and allow access to the main house.

Directions 20 minutes from the centres of Bridgnorth, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge and Telford. Blakelands can be found 4.5 miles from the main A449 at Himley, either south from Wolverhampton or north from Stourbridge, taking the B4176 towards Bridgnorth at Himley, following our brown tourism signs.

1. Civil Wedding Ceremony Charges - It is understood that it is the responsibility of the prospective Brides and Grooms to arrange the ceremony with the Registrar. Any fees requested by the Registrar are NOT the responsibility of Blakelands and arrangements must be made to pay the Registrar directly.

2. Guest Beverages - The registrar has requested that no food or drink be served to, or consumed by guests in the Marriage Rooms prior to the ceremony.

3. Standard Conditions - All Wedding Receptions taking place at Blakelands are subject to the relevant fees & charges as listed in this package.

4. Private Wedding Ceremony - For private ceremonies, with only the Wedding Service (followed by Celebration drinks & canapés if required), & photographs, It is understood that all guests are required to leave Blakelands no later than two hours following the ceremony performance time.

5. Inclusive Wedding Packages – for Inclusive packages, the amount shown is the minimum charge payable, additional numbers may be catered for, however for smaller numbers, the minimum charge will still apply.

6. Exclusive Wedding Charges - The charges detailed in this package are based on inclusion of the following services: All Saturday Receptions must consist of: 1. Arrival to Blakelands House, 2. Welcome Drinks served in Blakelands House, 3. A minimum of Wine Package one served with your meal, 4. Option ‘A’ Wedding Menu is the minimum amount payable per guest, & 5. An Evening Buffet is served for all attending guests. For changes to this package, Additional Waiver Charges will apply.

For all Other days: 1. Arrival to Blakelands House, 2. Welcome Drinks served in Blakelands House, 3. A minimum of 1 food service is provided for all attending guests. For changes to this package, Additional Waiver Charges will apply.

7. Minimum Numbers - All Charges detailed in this package are based on a minimum numbers of Adult guests for a Saturday Wedding Reception shown on page 5. No minimum Daytime numbers apply for a Weekday or Sunday Daytime ceremonies.

8. Hog Roast Option - due to Booking Restrictions, this option must be charged for a minimum of 100 guests

9. Daytime Receptions - If you do not wish to have an Evening Reception, we ask that you and your guests please clear the room 1 hour after the conclusion of your meal and speeches. All ceremonies must be timed to allow this.

10. Booking Fees - Booking Fees & payment details as described on page 20 must be adhered to. All payments will be deducted from your final Wedding account. These and other stage payments are non-refundable should you cancel your reception following their due payment date. In addition please see item 15 below. Please refer to our Terms & Conditions on the rear of our Booking Forms for full details of our cancellation policy.

11. Payments - For Weddings and Functions we accept payments by cash, cheque or debit card. If you wish to make payments by credit card a 2.5% surcharge will be added to the payment.

12. Bedroom Reservations - When provisionally reserving bedrooms for your guests, we would prefer all rooms in The Stables Building be reserved first before bookings are made for Blakelands Lodge.

13. Cancellation of reserved rooms - If rooms you have reserved in The Stables are not confirmed or are cancelled by your guests, we reserve the right to move any Wedding guests from Blakelands Lodge to these rooms.

14. Cancellation of the Reception (by You)- All booking fee’s and stage payments are non refundable in the event of cancellation and any payments due at the time of cancellation will still be due as a cancellation fee.

15. Cancellation of the Reception (by Blakelands) – 1. We reserve the right to cancel any booking giving a minimum of 12 months notice and the refund of any monies paid. 2. We reserve the right to cancel any booking, at any time if payment schedules are not honoured or the conditions of booking are not adhered to.

Civil Ceremony Guidance: Civil Ceremony Guidance: Civil Ceremony Guidance: Civil Ceremony Guidance: For those who wish to Marry on Approved Premises.

1. As soon as a couple have made provisional arrangements for their marriage on approved premises they should be advised to contact the Superintendent Registrar for the district in which the premises are located. The Registrar office, Civic Centre, Gravel Hill, Wombourne, Nr Wolverhampton, WV5 9HB. Telephone number 0300 1118001

2. Without the presence of this Superintendent Registrar and a Registrar, there can be no marriage and any arrangements for the use of the premises depend entirely on their availability. It is therefore, essential that the couple make an advance booking with this Superintendent Registrar for their attendance at their proposed marriage as soon as a booking can be accepted. A fee for this attendance will be payable in advance of the ceremony.

3. The Couple will also have to give a notice of marriage to the Superintendent Registrar(s) of the district(s) in which they live. This notice must be given in person by one of the couple but is valid for only twelve months. One of the couple should, therefore attend the Registrars office where they live as soon as possible after which notice can be given.

4. The couple should be warned that any arrangements made for a marriage to take place on the approved premises are dependant on: a) The attendance of the Superintendent Registrar and the Registrar for the district in which the premises are situated; and b) The issue of the authority or authorities for marriage by the Superintendent Registrar(s) to whom notice of marriage was given.

5. When notice is given in a different registration district from the one where the marriage is taking place, the couple will have to collect the authority before the ceremony and ensure that it is delivered to the Registrar who is to attend the ceremony.

6. The couple should be advised that only a civil, non-religious ceremony can be permitted by the Superintendent Registrar. Any music, reading, words or performance which form part of the ceremony must be secular. The content of the ceremony must be agreed in advance with the Superintendent Registrar who will be attending the ceremony. 7. Any rights of copyright for music, readings, etc. permitted at the ceremony are a matter for the couple and the holder of the approval.
