BOTTLECRU WINE STYLE CHALLENGE™ A New Corporate Entertainment & Team Building Event BottleCru® is changing the way people taste and drink wine! We’re a wine education company created
by professional sommeliers to help consumers discover and order the wines they love, not the wine
they’re told they should love because or reviews or ratings. It’s based upon a unique wine styles
approach to understanding wine.
Event Goals BottleCru® has developed a multi-media and “blind wine-tasting” experience to lead your clients
through a discovery process which is fun, educational and highly interactive. The goal of the experience
is for participants to discover that wines come in specifically defined styles, and to discover which they
prefer, know how to identify them, and from then on, be able to order and consume their favorite wine
styles. It’s both an intellectual experience and a hedonistic one. It can also be a bit competitive as well, if
that is the nature of the group, as it can be a challenging game.
Event Specifics It’s a great event to hold for company teams. A Certified Sommelier guides the process as the
participants’ experience, learn and have a ball doing the wine styles challenge. BottleCru delivers this
turn-key event at TasteVin Wine Bar & Bistro, 890 Laurel St, San Carlos, CA

TEAM BUILDING WITH BLIND TASTING SENSORY ANALYSIS & TASTING FUN
A team that works well together is more effective, more productive, and more successful — not to mention happier and more fun to work with! TasteVin’s Team Building with Wine Program will develop creative problem solving and collaboration skills as well as encourage team bonding. The program includes 2 interactive wine exercises; Sensory Analysis – Name that Smell and Blind Tasting - Name that Wine. The program is designed to be entertaining, informative and to nurture a healthy & fun competitive spirit. It’s wine after all! Sensory Analysis Fun Exercise – Name that Smell 80% of wine tasting is olfactory, you really “rob” yourself of the complete wine tasting experience when you don’t stop to smell the roses - err, wine. Process
Workshop - a 30-45 minute workshop that reviews the common aromas found in various wine varietals such as strawberry & blackberry. Included are stimulating exercises so everyone has a hands on or should we say -- nose-on experience?
Contest – Teams are formed and will receive 10 glasses filled with aromas. They will have 5
minutes to identify the aromas. The intention is team members will work together and submit their collective best guesses.
The Winner - The team with the most aromas identified.

Blind Tasting - Name That Wine! (Blind Wine Tasting Contest): Evaluating or judging a wine is a fundamental part of "wine lore". Everyone does it, and at its simplest level the question asked is "Do I like this?" and then, "Why?" Blind Wine tasting takes your wine appreciation to a new level as it helps you become more conscious and aware of the richness of the wine. And your guests get to be a sommelier for a day! The Process The group will be divided into teams and will try to deduce the wine based on sight, smell and taste. The test is a flight of 4 wines, 2 reds and 2 whites. The goal is to guess the 12 identifiers correctly. A scorecard will be given to each team which has both fill in the blank and multiple choice questions. Now the fun begins, teams will have 15 minutes to analyze the wine and fill out the scorecard. Wine debates are very engaging and typically filled with a tremendous amount of passion. The team will have to decide which the best answers are by comparing their notes and voting amongst themselves which could be the winning guessing. After the test we will review each team’s answers which is always extremely fun and entertaining. The team(s) that correctly name all identifiers wins. The program is led and conducted by a certified Sommelier who will provide additional insights and knowledge that both your wine novices and aficionados will enjoy Duration – 2 ½ - 3 Hours Wine without Cheese? During the program an assortment of cheese, charcuterie and appetizers will be provided. Our catering menu will have just what you need to make this a memorable and unique team building experience.
