The In-School Mentoring Program
start somethingin an hour a week
TEAMS THAT BOWL TOGETHER, STAY TOGETHER There’s a famous book called “Bowling Alone” that shows how people today feel less connected to their family and neighbours because they are doing more activities alone, including bowling. But your participation in this year’s Bowl for Big Brothers Classic bucks that trend. By bowling together with 125 other teams – that’s over 1,300 people – to raise funds to help local kids, we are building community. Because when our children are emotionally, socially, and physically healthy, everyone in the community benefits.
Thank you again.
Valerie Lambert, CPA, CA
Executive Director, Big Brothers of Greater Vancouver
126 teams and 1,319 bowlers participated in The 2017 Scotiabank Bowl for Big Brothers Classic, presented by Mr. Lube.

Start SomethingBig Brothers of Greater Vancouver matches vulnerable children in the community with mentors who serve as role models and teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, of staying in school and of having respect for family, peers and the community.
The Big Brothers Program is a friendship based mentoring program that has been around for over 100 years. The program matches adult male volunteers with boys aged 7-14, who have limited to no contact with positive male role models in their lives. Big and Little Brothers spend 2-4 hours a week together doing a wide range of activities they both enjoy.
