    RAD Rapid Application & Development

FactoryTalk View Site Edition Global Objects

Global objects let you link the appearance and behavior of a graphic object to multiple

copies of that object in the same application. When you make changes to the original

object, the copies are changed as well.

Display reuse with parameter passing The same display can be used multiple times with the parameter passed to them using

tag placeholders that forms the tagname.

Symbol Factory and Object shading The Symbol Factory is a library of over 5,000 graphical objects optimized for high

performance for use in industrial automation HMI applications, Objects can be shaded fill.

Data Access Control The External Access property allows you to specify the level of access (Read Only,

Read/Write, or None) external applications and devices have to tags.

    Alarming

FactoryTalk Alarm and Events System Overview

The FactoryTalk Alarms and Events Services centralize the distribution of device-based

and tag-based alarm data to run-time clients, through FactoryTalk alarm servers that

you add to a FactoryTalk View SE application.

Device Based Alarms Logix controllers will serve alarm information to FactoryTalk Alarms and Events

Services Banner. There are two instructions in the Logix controllers ALMA for Analog

alarm and ALMD for Digital alarm.

Tag Based Alarms Allows non Logix based controllers and third party devices to connect to FactoryTalk

    alarms and events.

FactoryTalk View Command You can associate a FactoryTalk View command with any alarm. The command is

executed from the Alarm and Event Summary or Alarm and Event Banner.

    Real Time Alarm Notification

    Specter Instruments WIN-911 Overview

WIN-911 is real-time Alarm Notification Software that works with FactoryTalk Alarm and

Events to monitor operations and notify personnel of problem conditions. Alarm

notification can be via SMS, pager, voice or email.

2 way SMS Text notification on alarms

Individual alarm acknowledgement from your cell phone

On Demand list of alarms which have been acknowledged, but are still in the alarm

    condition

    Health Status

2- Way Manual Text messaging available in the WIN-911 alarm monitor

    Remote monitoring of the application

FactoryTalk Viewpoint. FactoryTalk ViewPoint provides a Web based thin client for

FactoryTalk View Site Edition and PanelView Plus 6. Only a web-browser and Microsoft Silverlight required on the client.

Remotely change tag values in FactoryTalk View Machine or Site Edition applications Numeric Input, String Input, Push Button controls and Control List Selector.

Remotely change tag values in FactoryTalk View Site Edition applications Set, Toggle, Equals (Tag2 = Tag1 *0.35+12), Ramp or Touch Animation with

    Command.

    Execute Macros.

    Utilizing SQL and Stored Procedures

FactoryTalk Transaction Manager FactoryTalk Transaction Manager can move large amounts of data in

a fast and robust manner. Provides error checking for when a transaction has not completed. Can write-back handshake to control system for transfer verification. Two types of transaction

Uni-Directional Data transactions (Data logging from a Controller to a Database)

Bi-directional Data Transaction. A bit in the controller triggers the transaction, Data from

the control system is passed to a stored procedure in the database and the stored

procedure executes and the output data is downloaded to the controller.

Stored Procedures A stored procedure is a set of Structured Query Language (SQL) statements with an

assigned name that's stored in the database in compiled form.

Utilize the full power of the Microsoft SQL instruction set.

    Powerful data logging and analysis

FactoryTalk Historian Site Edition and FactoryTalk Vantagepoint VantagePoint 4.0 Historian connector

Logical model of the data points.

Instances of types allows for quick deployment of new Historian tags to report on

Real time tags that are historized are automatically detected.

User can drag a real time tag onto a trend and automatically the system will show

    historical data.

When tags are historized in multiple historians the system can find the best source of

information needed for a report / trend.

Makes reporting completely transparent to the end user.

User can drag a real time tag onto a trend and automatically the system will show

    historical data.

Aggregations of data are automatically handled in Historian.

    Manufacturing Dashboards

FactoryTalk VantagePoint Collects, aggregates and correlates disparate data from your

manufacturing and production processes and business systems. Advanced trend tool

    XY Plotter

    Excel Add-in

    Portal for thin client access

    Advanced Dashboards.

Xcelsius is a powerful third-party tool bundled with VantagePoint Designer tool used to create Interactive Visualizations

Flash based tool used in web sites, portals, PDF, MS Office Documents, etc.

Multiple data sources: Business Objects, Crystal Reports, XML, Web Services, etc.

Leverages Excel for data mapping, data manipulation, and interactive events.

Do you have a lifecycle plan?

In a 2010 study of process automation users, Automation Research Corporation (ARC)

identified that 88% of these users confirmed the use of automation beyond the manufacturers obsolescence date. In this same study, a clear majority of users

    acknowledge having NO lifecycle plan.
