Here at NMCRS we caredeeply about our volun-
teers. When we get an op-portunity to show them howmuch we appreciate themand all they do, we take
advantage. Throughout ourvolunteer week we handedout appreciation bags, gavea complimentary apprecia-
tion breakfast and lunch, held a volunteer luncheon, and bonded on a swampcruise. The bags were cre-
ated by our Hospitality,
Sharice Godfrey, along withhelp from Zanita Hooperand the directors adorable
daughter, Sadie Delvin.The volunteers were
treated to a light breakfastand a delicious sub tray for
lunch. A luncheon was heldto congratulate many of our
volunteers on their signifi-cant milestones and toenjoy a great lunch catered
by Stonewalls. To wrap up
all the festivities we had aswamp tour at Jean La-fittes where many volun-teers showed up with their
families and we enjoyed theexotic wild life of the
bayou . Many memorieswere made and we here at
NMCRS would like to say
thank you to all of our vol-unteers. You all are irre-
placeable and are responsi-
ble for the many successeswe have here. Hats off to
you.

took a moment to thank our

their ongoing service. Thiswas also an opportunity to

Nothing says Nawlins
quite like gators, bayous, andCajun accents. Put them alltogether and you get a won-derful morning on the beauti-ful canals of Lafitte, LA!
We were guided by the col-orful Captain Joe around allsorts of bends and turnthrough a complex canal
bayou system. We saw avariety of turtles, long-legged birds, and quite a fewgators, although we didn't
see any of the monster sizedgators, the quantity definitely
made up for that. The tourwas very delightful and had a
great comic entertainment, thanks to Capt. Joe. Thanksto all of our volunteers and
family members who cameout for a great time of much
needed rest and relaxation.

Thrift Store
Mrs. Rosa has been gra-ciously volunteering forNMCRS since 2005 and saysthat its her way of helping
the service. She is a mother
of three and has six grand-children. The success andgrowth of the thrift store issomething Rosa finds a lotof pride in. She advises that we all should go for what
[we] want and don't wastetime on shouldve , would've ,
could've. On behalf of
NMCRS, I would like to saycongratulations on a job
well done and keep up thegood work.
Did you knowA study at University ofMichigan show that peo-ple who don't volunteerdied earlier than those
who volunteer at leastonce a week. Volunteer-ing can also boost yourself-confidence, self-respect, and give you asense of accomplishment.
NMCRS Volunteers aremen and women, militaryand civilian, retired andactive duty, officers andenlisted, and their fami-lies. Maybe even YOU!!!
