There’s been a lot of buzz around the site ever since March 23, when the Triumph transaction was announced. People are basically wondering the same thing: How will this impact us here in Nashville? The fact is, we don’t know much about what the transition will entail. At this early stage in the deal, there are many more questions than answers. As things are sifted out at a higher level, information will be shared with employees in a timely manner. All communications associated with this transaction will be posted on the Vought Intranet. From the home page, click on Communications; then Triumph Transaction. One thing I do know is that our day-to-day jobs remain the same as they’ve always been. We must focus on safely producing quality structures, on time, for our customers. That is paramount. If we concentrate on doing our best, I am confident this site will continue to have a strong future. As an operating division within Triumph, Vought becomes part of a well-managed, well-capitalized, publicly traded company. It’s a logical and necessary step in the evolution of Vought, which benefits our customers, employees and investors. Here’s to looking favorably on the changes we’re facing as a site and a company! With a sound work ethic and positive attitude, the sky’s the limit. Dan Tharp General Manager It’s Time To March for Babies! April is Severe Weather Awareness Month. No one can predict when severe weather will hit, but anyone can be ready. In fact, study after study shows that just thinking about it in advance can improve how you and your whole community come through the challenge.

Here are five easy things you can do to get ready for severe weather this month:

1. Make sure all family members (espe- cially children) know the "safe" locations in your home for severe weather. 2. Keep a battery- or crank-powered flashlight and radio in your home's "safe" location. 3. Keep an emergency kit in your car that contains food, water, first-aid supplies, flares and jumper cables. 4. Keep an emergency kit in a container at your office that would be easy to grab if you are asked to evacuate. 5. Have plenty of pet food and extra water for each pet in your family's emergency supply kit.

1st row (L-R): James Gleaves, George Haynes, Jolin Richmond 2nd row (L-R): Pat Montgomery, Jeanne Fields, Thomas Jarrett, James Allen, Larry Summar 3rd row (L-R): Ron Clark, Jerry Rogers, John Brackin, Walter Booker

Dan Tharp and others serve a BBQ luncheon in recognition of G450 employees working safely.

Mark Dickey thanks G450 employees for working safely at the Nashville site.

Employees Gather to Recognize Airbus When Airbus delivered its 6,000th airplane earlier this year, some of our employees got together to commemorate this significant milestone. Airbus is our single largest program in Nashville, employing about 500 people. Deliveries for the A330/A340 began in 1990, with more than 1,100 wing component units shipped to date. We’ve also played a role in the Airbus A319/A320 family of aircraft. From 1997 to 2007, workers at this facility built and delivered more than 600 aircraft sets of upper wing panel assemblies for the popular single-aisle A319/A320.
