Volunteer Work Report By: Ikjot Dhillon The types of volunteering work I have done in my past are volunteering for a daycare, volunteering for Gurpreet Dhillon, and volunteering at Rexdale Spiritual Centre. During my time as a volunteer, I did many things that benefitted the area where I was volunteering and made sure I was an asset and not a liability. The daycare which I volunteered was called Khalsa Montessori and here I was mainly in charge of watching over a group of toddlers. My other duties were cleaning up after the toddlers, creating fun games the toddlers could play, and bringing equipment that the toddlers could play with. I started doing this volunteer work in the 2013 summer in which I was able to achieve a total of 70+ hours. I started volunteering here mainly because in order to obtain a diploma I must complete a total 40 hours however, I also volunteered here knowing that it would look great on a resume. Moving forward, during the provincial election last year, I volunteered for the NDP’s MP for Sandalwood, Gurpreet Dhillon. Here I had dew duties that I was to carry out in teams of four and squads of 2. These duties include going door to door asking for peoples support, calling house to house and chatting with potential supporters, and

Here I had dew duties that I was to carry out in teams of four and squads of 2. These duties include going door to door asking for peoples support, calling house to house and chatting with potential supporters, and also putting down signs for supporters of the NDP. I started volunteering for the NDP because two years ago my cousin used to volunteer their and told me that it was a great experience so one afternoon I decided to join him and I ended up having a great time.In addition to volunteering at a daycare and for the NDP, I also volunteered at Rexdale Spiritual centre. Here I was in charge of my own personal time, I was free to do any chore I saw needed to be done. Here I was able to pick up on great self time management skills. I started volunteering here because before I moved to Brampton, my family lives close by so we were accustomed to going there frequently.
