ONTARIO TRAILS EDUCATION PROGRAM In partnership with: Supported by: Volunteer Management This program will be of practical use and interest to anyone working with volunteers including recruitment, training and how to retain volunteers for building and managing trails. Course Information WHEN May 17, 2012 8:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. LOCATION Woodstock COST $150.00 plus HST This course takes place over one day and will provide trail managers with tools and skills required to properly recruit, train, and retain volunteers as part of the trail building and management process This course will focus on identifying and understanding the volunteering cycle to address current and future volunteering needs for the organization, leading to building a volunteer management tool kit. The session will consist of both theory and practical training. Diana holds a Degree in Radio and Television Arts from Ryerson, a Certificate in Fundraising and Volunteer Management from George Brown College, a Certificate in Outdoor Education from Humber College and is a Hike Ontario Certified Wilderness Day Hike Leader, and Certified Hike Leader Instructor. Diana created a volunteerdriven Guided Nature Walks program to introduce and promote Rouge Park, a unique nearurban wilderness park to new and established visitors. Currently supervising a team of 40 volunteers which will expand in 2012. Instructor: Diana Smyth
