VOLUNTEER INFORMATION World’s Greatest Shave Poster Distribution More than 60,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders, and the equivalent of one person every 41 minutes is diagnosed. Although research is improving survival, sadly an Australian loses their life to blood cancer every two hours. The Leukaemia Foundation is the only national charity dedicated to helping Australians with leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma and related blood disorders survive and then live a better quality of life. We provide a home-away-from home for families during treatment while patients undergo months of gruelling chemotherapy, sometimes hundreds of kilometres from their home, as well as information, support and advice at a time when it’s needed the most. World’s Greatest Shave is one of Australia's biggest fundraisers. Between 16-19 th March 2017 more than 20,000 people will get sponsored to shave or colour their hair to support Australians with blood cancer. The Leukaemia Foundation doesn’t receive any ongoing direct government funding and relies on the support of the community to help more people survive.
