The project in Had Chao Mai National Park is an adventure but it is demanding as well. You are in charge of cooking your own food, do your own laundry, get up early, work long days and live in an environment that will be strange to you and have limited opportunities to speak english. You will have simple living conditions and miles away from a flushing toilet, and be ready to embrace the wildlife, it will be all around you while you stay in the national park. A flexible mind is necessary because you will travel around for the dierent jobs you will be doing, these trips will come with short notice and you have to live out of a backpack for a long period of time. If you stay positive and see the beauty in all the new things you will love this project. It will be challenging all way through, but if you are able to face these struggles you will have the best time of your life. You will get the chance to work with amazing people and learn from their expertise. See the beauty of an untouch Thailand, be immersed in Thai culture and experience the treausers that lay under the surface. You will also become more independent as a person and evolve as an individual and meet people that will touch your heart and make friends for life if you are open to it

BE YOU By volunteer Felicia Lanevik from Sweden. Read about her diving and volunteer adventures on the amazing Andaman coast from Trang to Malaysia. Maybe it takes a young Swedish amazon to do this project! But our advice is like hers: If you (and we) think you are up to this challenge, and to work with great, ambitious, but also quite demanding marine experts and lovers, go for it! Once in a lifetime.

BE YOU HAT CHAO MAI NATIONAL PARK PROJECT

If you are a spontaneous, adventurous, laidback and independent person, this is the place for you!

A flexible mind is necessary because you will travel around for the different jobs you will be doing, these trips will come with short notice and you have to live out of a backpack for a long period of time. If you stay positive and see the beauty in all the new things you will love this project.

It will be challenging all way through, but if you are able to face these struggles you will have the best time of your life. As a volunteer at Had chao Mai National Park you have the opportunity to be a part of a research crew. They will share their knowledge with you and involve you in the work they conduct. This is a great chance for the marine interested volunteers but it also means you have to take your responsibility. Be curious and interested at all time and be prepeared to pull your weight.

Have your diver lisence before you get to the project, there is no time to waste while there, and believe me when I say that you don't want to miss a single dive. Do some research before going down, reda about the area and what to expect. Reda about the marine life in the area and do the necessary preperations before your depature.

This is a project that will allow you to use your special talents. The people in the park appreciate a volunteer that take initiative and thinks outside the box. While I was there I worked with art as well as the marine research. I made artwork out of garbage and wood found on the beach and could therefore help with the exhibitions and some paintings was sold to raise money for the different projects they had running. With my interest in art and literature I also worked with creating child books about the importance of preserving the balance in the eco system.

They embraced my characteristics other than my diver license and gave me freedom to evolve and therefore I could help the national park in more ways I thought I could. So don't be afraid of taking chances and show all your talents, because they will embrace them all. Have an open heart and a curious mind and this project will give you experience and memories for a lifetime.
