No, you’re not watching a “where are they now” version of the Brady Bunch opening. With the

    From the Helm April, 2020

Members Matter so we are doing a virtual happy

hour on Zoom on Thursday's at 7:00 pm to connect,

laugh and have a cocktail. Check your emails for

instructions. We have had two so far and the

numbers are growing. So, join us to see your

friends faces and laugh with them.

At the last Virtual Happy Hour, I mentioned the

update for Flip Flops and returning to real happy

hours. Lynette Beal and I have been reviewing and

working on getting the updated information. She

has contributed a lot to the club and I asked her to

help since she and I have had a good relationship

with the restaurant in the past. So, I appreciate her

help and thank her for time with Flip Flops.

We have found out there are several steps before

    we can get together.

    1. First - the Governor has to open the state and local government, i.e. Fort Lauderdale.

    2. Second - the Federal Government has bars on Stage 2 of the reopening.

    3. Third - there are rules for the number of attendees in one place.

When this does occur, it will be limited to 50

people and 6 feet distance from each other. We are

still waiting to hear the process and look forward to

continuing at Flip Flops as they welcome us back.

As for the Board and General meetings, we will be

doing that on Zoom. The board will meet April

27th and the General Meeting will meet May 7th.

I will send out notices as usual.

Please be safe out there and protect yourselves.

This club for over 30 years will continue to grow,

support members and enjoy sailing and social

    activities as we move forward.

    Best Regards,

    Ethel Facundo, Commodore – 2020

    Schedule of Events

Most of you should have gotten a phone call from one of

our board members. Not being nosy, just want to make sure

everyone is OK and managing in these trying times. We

may not like cabin fever, but it’s better than that other

    illness that’s going around.

Also, we’d like to know how people are managing under quarantine conditions. Lina Farrar has sent in some photos

about how she is spending her time (last page). Please send me pictures and some narrative about how you have been

occupying your time. This can be recipes, mask-making, dressing up that one corner of your room you use for video

conferences so we think the rest of your place is equally elaborate, whatever.

    From one of our members:

    Happy Easter

It has been a challenge staying at home

but I have been enjoying walking ,

    cooking and some gardening. Also

    doing yoga classes online.

Appreciate all the updates that our

Sailing Board sent us from time to time

and the possible online schedule of

    activities. Getting excited.

Wishing all my fellow sailing club

friends to remain safe and healthy.

Also, looking forward to see all of you

again. We need a party and a drink!

    Stay safe.

    Lina Farrar
