We got a grant that came on a Visa gift card and Cooper Felipe and I went to the dollar store and bought almost $300 worth of materials including things like socks, soap, toothbrushes, etc.. We then spent a whole class time making and organizing the kits. It to- taled out to be almost 50 kits! We will then donate half to a local outreach center, Harriet Tubman Center East, and then personally hand out the rest to individuals on the street in Minne- apolis. Ten members from Tartan BPA chapter attended this year’s National Leadership Conference which was held in sunny and hot Orlando, Florida. During the four day conference Tartan had two members that competed in two competitive events because they were state qualifiers.

Nine members received the Ambassador Torch Award, given out at the National level for earning sev-enty points in all seven categories of the Torch Award program. The members received a certificate, pin, mini badge sticker (that you put on your ID badge), and a medal. The Ambassador Torch Award is BPA’s highest honor for students involved in their community.

This year’s local President Adam Revoir had the opportunity to represent Minnesota as one of the ten voting delegates. As a voting delegate Adam got to work with the other voting delegates from Minnesota to vote for the 2017-2018 National officers for Business Professionals of America.

Tartan earned the Outstanding community service for all of the community service activities Tartan has accomplished this school year. Adam Revoir was awarded the Bronze Presidential Service Award, for his 120+ hours of community service. He was also one of the few BPA members that was named a BPA student certified member.
