Honourable Justice K. Abraham Mathew inaugurated the programme by lighting the traditional lamp and delivered the inaugural address. Mr. Leonard Francis, CEO & Founder, OpsGenesis LLC, Newyork,USA in his special address asked the students to grab the opportunities Schola Brevis 2017 The Honourable Justice inaugurating the programme and to remain focused in spite of obstacles in life. Rev. Fr. Antony Arackal, Manager, St. Albert's College passed the beacon of light among the students and led the Student prayer. The different Deans and Department Heads were introduced by the Asst. Manager, Rev. Fr. Christy David Pathiala. The gathering was welcomed by the Principal Dr. M. L. Joseph and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. V. S. Sadanandan, Vice Principal, St. Albert's College. The students invoking the blessings of the Lord Corporate Branding workshop attended C ochin Chamber of Commerce organized a workshop on 'Corporate Branding' on 21 July 2017 at Abad Plaza, Kochi. Ms. Savya C. P., Ms. Amila Alex, Ms. Maria Rose Agnes and Ms. Nayana Vinod, Semester III MBA students participated in the workshop with various corporates. Mr. Mark Antony The AIM students with the workshop participants Our Students with the resource person Sequeira, CEO of Maestro Human Resources Pvt. Ltd, Bengaluru, the resource person for the workshop spoke about the various aspects of branding and how to build a brand in the mindset of people. It was a privilege for our students to attend the event and to share the platform with people from different corporates. A lecture by Dr. Ila Patnaik, Principal Economic Advisor to the Government of India was organized on the topic "Economic Growth of India" at Grand Hotel, Kochi on 27 July 2017 by SEBI and was sponsored by Geojit Financial Services Ltd. The semester III students, Mr. Seyyid Faiz, Mr. Jissmon George, Mr. Albin Scaria, Mr. Binoj , Mr. Arun Menon, Ms. Sarangi, Ms. Dilsha, and Ms Reny attended the event. Dr. Ila Patnaik mentioned that the economic growth of India at present is showing a continuous decline and is expected to grow by 2020. The key learning from the event was that the economic growth of India is a long term trend which is influenced by 3 factors - Capital stock, Labour and Productivity. The session was an enriching experience for the students. Our students with Dr.Ila Patnaik Placement Endeavours @ AIM P lacement support has been in stream for the passing out batch students. A number of career opportunities were provided to the students whose placement is due. A few organisations are Reliance Retail Ltd. offering positions in its Logistics & Retail Division, HDFC Bank Ltd. to its Virtual Relations Cell, Dalmiya Cements to its Channel Sales, Cabot Technology Solutions Ltd. to its Digital Marketing activities,Cinesoft Ltd. for Product Management team and Genius Consultants Ltd. to its HR operations; with annual salary packages ranging from Rs. 2 Lakh to Rs. 5 Lakh. It was a happy moment for all of us here in AIM to see Ms. Layana Lazar getting placed in Kerala Matrimony, Mr. Sanu George & Mr. Jojy Antony being shortlisted in Dalmiya Cements and Mr. Febin Francis Frans in Cinesoft. He stressed on the need to possess a vision and the importance of working hard to transform the vision into a reality. He emphasized on 5 major steps i.e. Having a definite goal, planning, execution, Mr. Leonard Francis addressing the students perseverance, and re-caliberation which are essential to succeed in the journey of life W ith the objective of facilitating the campus placement of semester III students, the placement cell has worked out a continuous training & development program for the batch. In this connection, AIM organised a couple of workshops on 'Building a powerful Resume' and 'Excelling in Group Discussions'. With aptitude tests being a part of initial screening process, AIM provided an opportunity to the batch students to participate in an 'Online Aptitude Test', in association with Freshersworld. Also, there was a Corporate session held on 'Effective Sales Process' by Mr. Sandeep Damodaran - Regional Sales Head, Sterling Holidays and Mr. Premnath Pai - Associate Circle Head, HDFC Life. In the forthcoming months, this batch students are to be taken through sessions on Personal Interview and other related aspects of campus recruitment, as well. Sem. ENDEAVOUR 2017 - The ED Club inaugurated

Entrepreneurship Development Club of AIM,Endeavour 2017, was inaugurated on 11 July 2017

by Mr. James Joseph, Founder and CEO, Jackfruit 365.Dr. Geo Fernandez, Dean, AIM, welcomed thegathering and Rev. Fr. Antony Arackal, ManagingDirector, Albertian Institute of Management deliveredthe presidential address.

Mr. James Joseph is the author of the recent bestseller "Gods own Office" and is the former Director,Executive Engagement, Microsoft, India. Prior to thisrole, he has held the positions of businessdevelopment, Sales and Marketing positions at 3M,Ford Motors Company, i2 Technologies andInformatica.

In his inaugural address, he stressed on theimportance of developing entrepreneurial skills inprofessional students and the need for being jobproviders rather than job seekers. Later he spoke ofhis inspiring life and shared how a corporate leadertransformed into a successful entrepreneur throughconstant focus and immense hard work to achieve hisgoals. His continuous efforts changed the simpleunwanted Jackfruit into a healthy, and affordableproduct with multiple benefits.

Mr. Gopesh C.R., Asst. Professor and Mr. Nidhin Johny, Asst. Professor AIM attended the Annual GeneralMeeting and the Award night of NIPM Kerala Chapter. The outgoing Secretary, Kerala Chapter presented

the activities conducted by NIPM in the last year. Awards were presented to Rev. Fr. Jose Alex OruthayappillyCMI, Director of RSET in absentia along with Mr. M.K. Saanu for their conributions to the society.

A manager must be ready to handle stress throughout his life, be it professional or personal. AIMorganized a program on stress management for the Sem. I MBA students on 20 July 2017 led by Ms.

Anjaly, Dr. Preetha, and Ms. Manju from Bodhini, a movement against cyber abuse and violence againstwomen. The key areas that they touched upon was on developing the ability to manage stress in our dailylives and the need for cyber security. They stressed on the necessity of ensuring the safety of women andthe steps to be taken under threat.

He mentioned the needfor socially responsible Managers and how they canmake a positive contribution to both the organizationand the society at the same time. The event began

with a prayer song by Fr. Joseph Antony of Sem. IIIMBA after which our respected Dean Dr. Geo JosFernandez welcomed the gathering. The Instituteextended its sincere gratitude towards the chief guestand presented a Memento as a token of love on behalfof the entire Albertian family.

Brand war @ AIM

On 21 July 2017, the Marketing Club of AIM, RoyalBazaar, conducted a 'Brand War' for the students

of AIM and St. Albert's College. There were threerounds for the game in which the first round was anAptitude test, the Second a prototype round thatinvolved creating a product using waste materialsfollowed by presentation of the same and Q and Asession in the third round.Brand war in progress

Fides, the Finance club of AIM inaugurated itsactivities for 2017 with a stock game competition for

the students of Albertian Institute of Management andstudents from Albert's College on 14 July 2017. The mainaim of the event was to give the students an idea of howto invest in the stock market by analyzing all possiblevariables and identifying strategies to succeed in it. Thefirst prize was won by Mr. Seyyid Faiz and Mr. Arun Menon.Mr. Hrishekesh Nandakumar and Mr. Jissmon Georgewere placed second and Ms. Monisha Alexander and Ms.Ratnamma R. bagged the third position.

The Installation of the Rotaract chapter @ AIMwas organized in the institute on 15 July 2017. The

installation was a formal event where the newlyelected office bearers were sworn in. The Chief Guestof the function was Mr. K. C. Philip, Past DistrictGovernor, Rotary Club and the Rotary President of theparent unit, Mr. Ajil Jose was the Guest of Honor. Theoutgoing president Mr. Sanu addressed the gatheringand Mr. Rohith R presented the report of the activitiesof the club during the past year.
