Mark's concern in his Gospel is that his readers know the good news of who

Jesus is: God's Son and suffering Messiah. It is a book of action, demonstrating Jesus's identity with a strong emphasis on what he did – acts of service and of power that often left onlookers amazed. Inherent in this revelation of Jesus' identity is a call to radical discipleship fueled by total dependence on him.

Mission & Outreach

THANK YOU FOR PROVIDING NEEDED FOOD

Are you one of the many members who have brought food for the food cart? If you are one of

them, thank you. The Reseda church wrote us a very nice thank you note for the help we are

providing. The first Sunday of each month, the food cart is in the narthex, ready to accept

canned or boxed food. The wooden cart is in the office the rest of the month, eager to accept

donations. The food we gather is taken once a month to the food pantry at the First UMC in

Reseda. Each Wednesday, that church passes out food to families who really need the help.

Some families would have to skip meals without the help we and the Reseda church pass out

each week. Items like soup, cereal, canned fruit and vegetables, canned meals, canned meat

and fish, pasta and sauce, peanut butter, beans, and rice are all part of the items that are

needed to help others in our neighborhood get enough to eat. When you shop this week, buy a

little extra and put it the wooden food cart. You will help more than you can imagine.

DELECTABLES & COLLECTIBLES TO CELEBRATE SPRINGTIME!

The United Methodist Women have been busy as bunnies preparing decadent deliciousness and delightful designs for you! Join us on SUNDAY, APRIL 7, in the Fellowship Hall

between services, to take your pick of Springtime sweets and savories and handmade home decorations for the season.

In the long tradition of the UMW, all proceeds from this sale go to support a myriad of local, national and international missions and charities.

Volunteers, as always, are needed to donate yummies, help with setup on Saturday, April 6, cleanup after the event and staff the sales tables. Please call Dorine Collins (818-993-7939) or

Kay MacGregor (818-705-2755) to volunteer, or sign up in the church office.

Springtime scrumptiousness will be here as quick as a bunny!

On February 22 the Primetimers group of Senior Ministries served lunch to a large group of our

NUMC members. Lunch was great, and the biggest treat was hearing Sally Taylor talk about how

to work through issues and concerns that we all experience as we age.
